In the first chapter and first verse of I chronicles it states this.."Adam, Sheth, Enosh" which starts the family records from Adam to Abraham. The book of Luke states in chapter 3 verse 38,"Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God". Back in the book of Genesis it states chapter 5 verse 1.."This is the book of the generations of Adam................", verse 3 "And Adam lived a hundred and thrity years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image, and called his name Seth".
It's obivious to a student that Abel need not be mentioned, due to the fact that he died prior to have left heirs, (as was the fact with one of the son's of Jesse, King David's father, because one of his son's died, therefore he was not mentioned in Jesse's geneology.
Now my question is this..WHY isn't Cain in Adam's geneology? Why does Cain have his own Family record in Genesis 4:17-22.? Family is family, no matter what he did.

Kapau L....thanks for the compliment. but knew that at the age of 8 when I started the Bible, 46 years ago. I know Satan is the Father, as Paul said "..as the serpent BEGUILED Eve......" beguiled=wholly seduced'. As christ said "Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one" OF=progeny.

illiterate bible christian, Cain is in deed the son of Adam and Eve, however he is not from the "sperm of Adam" Why, it is possible that woman can give birth to twins of separate sperms. That was the case of Cain. When we're taught of Eve took of the fruit of "good and evil," typical Christian translate it to eating the sinful fruit of "Appple", however if you do your research it was a sexual sin that Eve tempted Adam to commit with her. I totally agree with the ones that said Luke is describing the link between God, Adam, and Jesus, and thus Cain would not be included. It also omits him in Chronicles and the reason is that he was not an ancestor of the Israelites. Only Seths' line survives today because of Noah and his 3 sons. The global flood wiped out all the other lines from Adam and Eve including Cain.

Because Cain is not the direct link between Adam and Jesus. Seth continued Adam's lineage. Adam being the son of God. Like if you wanted to create a family line from your dad to your son, you don't need to list any of your siblings, only you because you are the direct link.

No Cain is anathema to the family tree. Seth is the one that the lineage of the Messiah comes from. Because Seth is not guilty of murder.

In the book of Luke, it is Jesus' geneology that they are giving. Adam and Eve had many many children....they were told to fill the earth I think?
I think that whenever you see a geneology, it's usually because there's a reason and the people that are on it are on it for a reason. I kind of don't understand you question, though.

because he was cursed to wander theearth eternally and no man could know him--therefore his family had to disown him and remove his name from the family tree--technically he wasn't even human anymore.......
