If Islam orders that women must obey the men?

Question

What happens if the man wants to have sex and the woman does not? Since women are not allowed to disobey, doesn't that take away their consent? I'm no lawyer, but I believe non-consentual sex is called RAPE...at least in the CIVILIZED world.

Could this mean that there is no such thing as rape in Muslim-run countries?

Narrated 'Umar:

I came and behold, Allah's Apostle was staying on a Mashroba (attic room) and a black slave of Allah's Apostle was at the top if its stairs. I said to him, "(Tell the Prophet) that here is 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (asking for permission to enter)." Then he admitted me.

Quran Surah 9:61 Gabriel came to Muhammad and said, `If a black man comes to you his heart is more gross than a donkey's.'"


Health, Food and Drink

Quran Sahih Bukhari,Volume 1, Book 4, Number 234--Narrated Abu Qilaba: "Anas said, "Some people of 'Ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet (Muhammad)ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to ((((drink their milk and urine)))) (as a medicine).

Of course, to be fair to issues, it is also legal for a 50 year old man to marry a 14 year old girl in Catholic Mexico, if her famaily consents.

When Islam was first founded, women were its most common converts. Even today, more white American females convert than any other group. Why? We have the final say over who we can marry, even over our parents (they can't make us marry anyone), we get our own inheritance and dowry that belongs to only us, so that no matter how rich a woman is she is under no obligation to provide one cent to her husband.

We have the same religious and domestic status, and one of the most common hadiths of the prophet is that heaven lies below the mother's feet. Not the father's, the mother's.

I'm not sure if this is an exact hadith, but I'm pretty sure that the prophet said somewhere that to find out a man's true worth, look to see how he treats his wife.

Now call us oppressed? Not if men don't eff it up for us.

[Edit] Earl D, you are craazy. I have my Qur'an open in front of me, and can find no mention of the ayas that you have quoted. Hopefully people are smart enough to check sources for themselves, but they're not, so I take affront to you spreading ignorance and incorrect knowledge.

(P.S. And for 1400 years ago, 9 wasn't much different from 14. Anywhere around the globe.)

well I wish that man rule ... just kidding !! women are free to do whatever they want ,, the proof for that women can either take it off or ware its up to them when they get abroad let say UK or USA still you can see women either ware it or not. it is a cultural matter not religious as some might think, as it is odd to see women wareing Hejab in UK , it is odd to see women waring nothing it is more to habit than religion pal

... man has no power over women in my countery , actually i wish i am a women ... lol man they got every thing for free and over all they are well respected any where they go. Even in public places all men have to clear the way for her to make her feels that she is well respected. On the other hand, rape is a crime and its happening every where around the globe , but may be the percentage rates are different from palce to another.

Yes in islamic teaching,husband is a leader in a family whose good and islamic commands should be obeyed by all members of a family i.e wife and children.But if its command is against with islamic teaching all members of the fasmily should refuse it.

Men are supposed to treat their wives with respect, this part of whatever they believe has been eradicated from their minds apparently. I am not sure where you have been but a muslim woman has NO rights. none, zero zip. They get their genitals slashed up all in name of tradition, whether they want it or not. It is the choice of the father, because the father is the only one with rights, and the brothers if she happens to have any. Infant girls as young as 3 months old are suffering from female genital mutilation, all because women are considered less than dogs.
