Hi Ryan...I battle a Dew addiction myself. I found that slowing down and cutting back helps. I used to drink between 4 and 6 20 oz. bottles a day! Talk about wasted calories. So around July, I decided I was going to stop and I did. Within the first week, I dropped almost 5 pounds and am already down 15 pounds. I force myself to drink water...I keep the fridge stalked with bottles of it. I allow myself a Dew or two on the weekends, and it has been working. I drink unsweetened iced tea, too, and that helps with the whole caffeine thing. Good luck...take small steps and in no time, you will get it under control.

Ryan,
Drink like, 12- 16 2 litter bottles of it in one day. Just do the Dew, no food, no water; just Dew. That should break the desire to drink it, smell it, look at anything lime green, drive by a store that sells it... you get me?
Buy a three pack of Rolaids soft chews (cherry) too. You can take them with the Dew if you need to.
My uncle's best friend's sister-in-law's boyfriend's younger brother had to do this on doctor's orders. He was up to like 3 six-packs a day, and he was using a piece of gum to block up his ulcer. Anyway the long and short of it: He's alive, he can form complete sentences, and he can still ride his bike is a somewhat extreme fashion.
The only side effects so far are; he sleeps like 23 hours a day, and farts green bubbles.
Good luck bro!

I would ease myself off the caffiene first. Try drinking iced tea or another diet soda that doesn't bother you. Then I would gradually switch over to another caffiene free beverage. I recommend those crystal light packets that you put in water bottles. Low in calories and there are lots of flavors to choose from. Congrats on quitting smoking! If you did that- you can do this! Good luck.

Ryan, you'll do best to enlist the help of your doctor before trying to give up the caffeine. the withdrawal symptoms include sick headaches and he will be able to help you get through that. In the meantime, drink your dew with as much ice as you can stand...this will help cut down on the acid.
congrats on the quitting smoking... if you could do that, you can do anything! Good luck...

Try a reflexology session. A good reflexologist can work wonders. I went in to try it and ended up kicking a 15 year diet coke addiction after just 20 minutes of foot work. I haven't had one in over 10 months!

Diet drinks still have caffeine.
But caffeine in moderation isn't bad.
However, you should drink lots of water a day. Any time you drink a soft drink, that's one less time that you could be drinking water. So that's the main danger of soft drinks.
