I mean, sure, they made him a saint, but his presence is barely noted in the bible, and considering how long that book was they didn't cut his lines due to deadlines or space. He was raising Gods son as if he were his own, so why aren't we allowed to know about him and learn from his example?

I agree. An angel comes to him to tell him his fiance is pregnant with the Lord's child. He accepts this & protects her and the child. I don't have that much faith. Sorry. Also, they never talk about the other children Joseph & Mary had together after Jesus..

That's a good question, but if you're Catholic, you'll see he's anything BUT underappreciated. He's named the patron saint of the universal (Catholic) church, and don't quote me on this but I thought I heard it said, he was the next holiest, after the Virgin Mary.

Not a single word is said of St. Joseph but the type of man that He was can partly be seen in the impression he made on Christ growing up. Just as St. Joseph chose not to let Mary be stoned like an adulterer, you could see Jesus protecting the adulterer from being stoned by her accusers. Of all the men from the begining of time till the end, this was the person God chose to be Christ's protector and adoptive/foster father. ^_^

Actually Mary did not have as much said about her to warrant the worship of her as some do.

I do believe Joseph was a very good step father. I am sure he taught Jesus the scriptures as fathers were expected to do.

I however think less is said about Joseph in order to focus on Jesus Christ.

I do really appreciate the picture at this link:

I wouldn't agree with you that the fact that there is little info. on St. Joseph, in the New Testement, compared to the Virgin Mary.

I think that the reason why we have more information on the Blessed Virgin Mary is because St. Joseph died, just before Our Lord Began His Ministry, whereas Mary was still there, & was present during His Passion, Death, & Resurrection. She witnessed her Son's Ascension Into Heaven, & was with the Apostles during the Day of Pentecost, & assisted the early Church.

I believe that the reason why St. Luke's Gospel narrative goes deeper into Mary's POV, than St. Matthew's Gospel narrative does St. Joseph's POV, is because Mary was able to tell her story to the Apostles, whereas St. Joseph wasn't there.

He was tacked into Matthew and Luke after their first writing, to resolve the question about the lineage of Jesus back to David. It was an afterthought (the first 2 chapters of Matthew were tacked on as well), so they didn't devote much time to it.

I agree, but he is a powerful Saint. He is the Patron Saint of workers and also if you have a particular need that has to do with supplying needs for your family he can intercede for you. (yea, yea, I know what abunch of you are going to say but, the proof is in the pudding)

Jesus did learn the Carpentry trade from him and Jesus was a pretty good Carpenter.

The best thing any kid can do is honor through mastering what he was taught!

Because the bible is about Jesus. The people in the bible would tell you, if they could, that everything should point to Him, not to them. Mary would most likely be horrified to see what the Catholic church has done to her, how they have almost deified her. No one would ever want to be noticed...they would want Jesus to always, always be front and center. This is what marks a true servant of God...complete servitude, always pointing away from themselves and to Christ.
