It will be my first car, I am 26, and won't be driving the freeway much. I enjoyed test driving both, and like how both of them look.

Yes, I know BMW owns Mini Cooper, and also know Minis are cheaper than BMW. I am leasing either way.

I can only answer based on what I've heard. BMW's quality is said to have gone down in the past few years and the new mini coopers might be to new for accurate info so the best thing you can do is go to one of the consumer reports web sites and read the pros and cons of both cars. and if you choose a mini cooper never buy the first production model, the next models is when they get the bugs worked out after they introduce something new. For example , the first year they made the ford escape they had problems that the next ones didn't. Sorry if none of this isn't helpful.

They're both good, mini is owned by BMW. I have a Z3 and love it. I don't really like the way the Z4 looks. The Mini is probably alot cheaper than the BMW

The BMW makes more of an impression with it's "eclat," but the Mini is easier to drive and a snap to park. If you're on city streets, seriously consider the Mini.

Go with the one you like the most, personally I prefer BMW to a mini.
I don't like the lack of power that the mini has nor the uncomfortable seats that are cheaply designed. BMW also has more "creature comforts"!!!

go for the mini, its a fun car, when you get older go for the boring bmw, everyone seems to have got one,
