I have been asking friends from different countries if they have ever heard of anyone not being able to eat peanut products. They all said they have never heard of this before, just like restless leg syndrome, I mean com'on does this really happen anywhere else?

This is not true...I will use stats from the UK and Australia as an example...

Peanut allergy is believed to affect 1 in 200 people in the UK. The number of people suffering from the allergy in the UK is reported to be increasing - and children are particularly at risk.

You just have to understand that we have a larger consumption of peanut products here in the US than other countrys. Below are two links that show the volume of peanut allergys in both Australia and the UK

I traveled in Northern Europe for many years with a theatre company. One of the main reasons they don't have a lot of problems with the peanut allergies over there is that they use hazelnuts!! Peanuts aren't as common as they are here in the US.

People in other countries DO have food allergies. I was in the Nordic countries and found lactose-free products by the boatload in Finland. Why? Because so many Finns, even children, can't tolerate milk.

Australian friends told me MSG allergies are very coomon in Australia. I've never been there, so I took their word for it. It's no big deal, they say, because it's found in only a few foods.

The human body is no different here , than there . That's like saying if you are allergic to tomatoes in the US ; go to Russia and you won't be allergic . Not logical . Smokers still die of lung cancer in other countries too . A lot of people in this country aren't aware of peanut allergies ; but they do exist .
