Absolutely! Volleyball helps your leg muscles because you have to run to hit the ball over the net, it helps your arm muscles because you have to spike and serve, and it just keeps you in shape. At first, your hands and/or arms will get sore and will turn red when you bump too long, but eventually, you will get used to it. Volleyball is not about how hard you hit the ball, though. It is all about technique. In practice, you will learn the proper way to hit the ball to get it to go where you want, and how far. I have to admit, it is hard work at first...just getting used to it, but in the end, it is totally worth it. However, if you join the team and then find out that you are not improving, ask the coach or someone good one your team to help you. I am on the volleyball team and it does get really annoying when people do not know how to hit the ball. I hope everything works out for you! If you need more info about it, just email me!

If you're new to the sport..yeah. They're gonna hurt a lot. Especially your wrists. They'll have tiny little red bruises on them. And a lot of soreness. But all that goes away after a week or so and you can really focus on your practices. I say you should totally join the team. You'll have a blast and if you're not comfortable with overhands, why not try underhand's? They're just as good. as for spiking, focus on dinks or shove the ball straight down with a light push.

You get used to it, and never even feel it after awhile. I played volleyball for about 6 years. After about a week of training, the bumps don't sting your arms, and your hand doesn't hurt after you serve or spike it. Go for it. It's fun.

Initially, every organ hurts, when struck first time..After repeated hits, it will adjust to it. So, you can join volleyball and hit with your hands or save. Good luck.

Initially, when I first started to play volleyball, my hands really hurt like hell. But after a few sessions, it will be ok. Unless you have injured that part of your hands before. Go ahead and play. Its fun.

YOu should definitely play volleyball...it is such a great sport and is soooo much fun....and your hands shouldnt hurt because when you are passig the ball, you should be hitting it with the area near your wrist...not your hand.

but i would give the pain time to ease, it probably hurts because you are not used to playing!!!
