Tsar Bomba (Russian: Царь-бомба, literally "Emperor-bomb") is the Western name for the largest, most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated. Developed by the Soviet Union, the ~50 megaton bomb was codenamed Ivan (Russian: Иван) by its developers.
The bomb was tested on October 30, 1961 in Novaya Zemlya, an island in the Arctic Sea. The device was scaled down from its original design of 100 megatons to reduce the resulting nuclear fallout.
Due to its enormous size, the bomb was not practical for warfare purposes, and was created primarily for propaganda use in the intense rivalry of the Cold War. There is no evidence that any other bomb of similar power was ever made.

Not real sure about whats the most powerful, but it can do A LOT of damage. Besides the point of a nuclear bomb, I read the other day and also it was on a TV show called "The Last Days on Earth" or something like that, and scientists have found out that an asteroid will hit on April 13th, 2036. It will burn half of the earth in a split second and take longer to reach the other half but it will reach the other half eventually. So....from now til then is when something can be done to stop that. Whether or true its not, I can't tell you, Im just passing on what I heard. A little disturbing, I know..

The Soviets built and tested a 100 megaton bomb known as the TSAR Bomb (Kink of Bombs).
It was tested only once on October 23, 1961. Tsar is a Russian term to describe making a gigantic but useless (in military terms) artifacts for show. Reportedly only 2wereever made. The thing weighed 27 metric tons!
