The question sounds stupid, I know, but it's serious.
Think about it; you fart, and usually within 20 seconds you can smell it. Farts are only a small amount of gas, and yet a extra-smelly one can clear a room.
Is it something about the properties of methane? I dunno, but if you do then drop a response!

Um basically all matter is made of particles that become excited when high temperatures come into play... Thus on a hot day with particles moving faster in all directions (thus methan being carried around faster) they move out faster...while on a cold day it would take some time before you smelt anything

They can also make you DRUNK for a short amount of time, and they sound funny too. But, maybe that is just our southern food ( full of butter and oil and salt ).
