If there was another Vietnam war with same sides, who would win?

There is strong evidence that, between 1964 and 1973, the Vietnam War could have been won by the U.S. in less than a month had the war been fought by military leaders instead of policiticians and number crunchers in Washington D.C.

Vietnam's military today is larger, but not as well equipped as they were 30 years ago, while the U.S. Military is far more advanced than any other military force in the world. I believe victory over Vietnam would be measured in days instead of weeks.

In a way, the Vietnam War never ended. North Vietnam won the military war in 1975, but have been loosing the political and economic wars ever since. Communism doesn't work as a political or economic system, unless the whole country wants to remain a substance farming economy forever.

Their central control economy caused Vietnam to become the third poorest country in the world by 1985. Their market economy is now the second fastest growing economy in the world, and Vietnam is experiencing the best economy in their 1,000 year history. The new communist leaders that took office this year will likely be the last time Vietnam is ruled by a single party government. All thius is happening without a single bullet being shot.

certainly not the US. The US is not capable of winning a war in todays world. look at Korea conflict, Vietnam etc.

Probably be the same results now as it was then. But a lot would depend on who was president and who the General in charge of the armed forces would be. Current administration same results.

Same result if we fought the war the same way we did last time. Shoot, we're still using most of the same weapon systems.
