the reason i ask is i believe i love my boyfriend but a lot of people say its just puppy love...i dont want to think that what it is so how do you know??

Puppy love and love are the same thing. It's just that puppy love doesn't last forever. Not because you are not serious about it. It's just that people change a lot from being a teenager to being an adult. You may not like the way your boyfriend changes as he gets older. He may not like the way you change, as you get older. I'm sure you've heard people say that a relationship broke up because "we've grown apart". That's what they mean.

You can be in love if you want to be 6 mons or a year. Teen or Child. It's how you feel about that person not what age or how long. Yes you would know when your in love but here are a couple of things that can tell you that your in love:
You only want to be with that person every second of the day. You always call that person. When you and that person talk he is the only one you hear. That person is the only person on your mind when falling asleep. You love it when that person holds you tight and close. When you kiss you feel like floating. There's a lot more but I can't remeber them right now.

Well you will know because first of all it will be a feeling that you will always remember and cherish.The one thing is you will know if you want to stay with that person and give your whole heart to that one person!

Does it matter? Be happy in your time together and don't overthink it -- just enjoy it! Besides, you shouldn't care what others say ... it's your relationship anyhow!
