I am regularly sending money to Russia using Western Union on Internet and I could NOT use cyrillic alphabet (it might be different if you physically come to the Western Union office, I don't know). So, I am using a transliteration of Russian names. BTW, you don't need an address - only the name of the city and techincally speaking they should be able to pick up your money at any Western Union affiliate location in Russia - they should know the MTCN, amount transferred the name of the sender (you) and have a passport or other form of ID.

I hope you are not falling a victim of some "Internet bride" scam. Don't send money to help buying a ticket or something like that!
