I was thinking of a heart, flower, or wings.

"A tattoo is permanent evidence of temporary insanity"....

How old are you now? What will that skin look like in 10 years? 20? 50?... will your tat still look as cool as it will now?

Just some things to think about...

Jazzie, may I make a suggestion. Carefully pick the design you think looks the best. Then get a temporary tattoo. Try in on for style, size and location, the same way you'd buy shoes or clothes. That way you can always make changes until you get it just right. I might cost a little more, but this is a permanent investment in your body your thinking about. I think you'll be more happy with the end result, than if you just dive in.

If you don't want it to hurt you should probably get a temporary tattoo. Unless you can take the pain. Sometimes its bad and sometimes it's not so bad.
Getting a tattoo is NOT to be confused with be IN with everybody else. It is a work of ART that is premanently etched on your body so you need to think about what you want to get and what it represents to you not to everybody else.
As for what you should get it is entirely up to you. My personal preference and what tattoos I have are flowers, hearts, ribbons, etc alot of color nothing all black those look so plain to me. Good Luck.

If you are worried about the pain that much don't get a tattoo. If you don't know what you want wait until you do. It will hurt regardless of what you get... don't let anyone tell you different. As to how much that all depends on your pain tolerance.

If you are worried about pain, you'll have to change the location of the tattoo. What you get doesn't matter, obviously smaller tattoos yeild shorter tattoo time which means 'less' pain.
Any tattoo close to bones or well worked muscle will hurt. If you don't want to feel it, get one on your butt.

Something small like a butterfly or some stars or a fairy. A Chinese symbol would be neat. Just be sure to research what the symbol MEANS before you get it permanently tattooed on your back. ;)

no matter what you get tattoos hurt....I have one on my ankle and it wasnt nothing that I couldnt tolerate but it did hurt. And its definately going to hurt with it being on your lower back. The more the tattoo is on the bone or close to the bone the more painful it is going to be.

It doesn't matter what you get, its going to hurt the same. I have a cross on my lower back and it really hurt because its on your spine. I would get something kinda small for your first one of get it somewhere else.

How bout a heart or butterfly with Jazzie in cursive underneath. I am not sure you can take away the pain but it would be worth it if it looks good.

I have a four leaf clover on my lower left side of my back... hurt like hell...especially when they were digging the needle in to color it in... If you get anything get something with less detail... it won't hurt as bad.

its not that painful in the first place, but its the color that hurts the most and has the most needles..any filling in with color or black is what causes the bleeding because they have to repeatedly go over that area to properly fill it..consider an outline only...or just grin and bear it and get what you want.. you will be surprised how little it hurts
