people always talk about how the crime is going way up and the world is getting bad. Heres what i think. I think the population is getting higher and more of the crimes are being televised. I think there has always been this much crime.

Yes, its getting worse. But if some new laws were made such as.....

Parents can be parents again and bust there children's as*es and they won't go to jail but will get a pat on the back.

Everyone is required to have a firearm in there home and help protect there neighbor instead of looking out from behind closed doors and then claiming not to have seen anything.

Legalize all forms of drugs, tax the shi* out of them, sale them at your local gas station. This will get the dealer out of the loop and kill off the users quicker.

Outdoor publicized hangings for ALL sex offenders, rapists, murders, thieves, etc...

The list could go on and on but these would be a great start. And with in a very short period of time crime would be a thing of the past. The population would be controlled as well.

I do believe crime is getting worse, but I also agree with you on thing and that is more crime is being televised. It is like they want to show on the news even the smallest crimes. They will get so stupid about it that they will get on television and announce when a famous movie star gets pulled over for drinking, but yhe next day you will only here on your local radio about a muder that has happened or a murderer that has been set free in your state or town.

I think it's being blown out of proportion, The Per Capita Argument seems pretty solid...I'm a Criminal Justice major and in no way an expert, but from what I have studied it seems proportionate to the rise of our Population

as far as the school shootings I think the media is sensationalizing the issue...How many people have grown up in Inner city schools that witnessed school shootings, stabbings, or police standoffs over the past 45 years? I would bet the number of incidents if compared over the same period of time for the Suburbs would be a stark contrast

i think the crime is getting worse - even in small rural towns where things like murder never used to happen (and are not televised). i used to think i lived in the safest place but due to recent crime i always keep my doors locked now. used to i didn't have to worry about things like that but not anymore. its sad but crime is up everywhere.
