I don't know how to take files or programs off my computer using the thumb drive. I would like to get my e-mail (Microsoft Outlook) and Microsoft Word. I have Windows XP. I'm not very computer literate. I really need step by step instructions. I know it's not hard and if I do it once, I'll be okay. Help!

Just plug it in. WIndows will make a noise, and a little green icon will appear in the system tray (the area near the clock). Just open My Computer, and drag and drop files to and from the drive. Before you remove it, double-click the green icon that appeared when you put the flash drive in the USB slot. Select the drive from the list, and click Stop. Not doing this can cause you to lose data on the drive.

Right click on the file and left click on send to.Your flash drive will show up on the bottom of the list.Just click on that and that's all there is to it.You can all so go to my computer and find your flash drive there if you need to open it to pick out different files.Remember to back up your files just in case something goes wrong some times the flash drive can fail. Keep your flash drive away from magnets and water.

Simply plug it into the computer. If nothing comes up, then go to the website of the Brand Name, and try and find your product. Then, download the DRIVERS needed for this particular product. Very simple. Usually when you plug it in the first time (if you have a newer computer, 2003-current) it will recognize the device. Sometimes the computer will not recognize the device and you need to download a DRIVER.

Hope that this helps.

When you insert the flash drive in your computer's usb port the computer will detect it and set the drive up assigning it a drive letter (probably E:).

If you want to use it to store your documents you can drag and drop your My Documents folder to the flash drive. They will be copied to your flash drive and remain on your computer You can also back up your email using the import export feature built into it. Here's a link to a step by step process.

you can plug it in and a new drive (with drive letter (i.e. C:\)) will appear in "My Computer"

Open it up, drag and drop files to store files

Applications don't really work from flash-drives as they store preference information somwhere on the computer drive and not on the flash-drive itself. For some flash-drive friendly apps go visit http://portableapps.com/
