if yer little boy is still young, it may take about four weeks after surgery for his hormone levels to drop, but certainly having him fixed will help immensely. What I found, having done dog rescue for 11 years , for the boys that don't catch on after being fixed, I put doggie diapers on them for a week or so while they are in the house and they hate the sensation of being wet! Doesn't cure the need to answer P-mail outside, but cures the indoor problem. By the way..make sure that you get a good enzyme based dog urine and stain remover... as long as he can still smell his own smell he will continue to lift his leg. Bleach, basic floor and carpet cleaners do not work... you need an enzyme remover. Good luck!

Well, if its done early enough it might help to stop or slow the marking. Below is a really good website that will tell you all you need to know about dogs and marking and how to control it.

Well, first off you neuter male dogs and yes that can help significantly if he is still young enough and hasn't learned the behavior too deeply. It will take a few weeks for his hormones to totally leave his system though after the surgery.

It might help to get him neutered, but the smell of his urine in your home will just encourage him to pee again and again. After he's neutered, you should really begin to crate train him so he doesn't have the opportunity to mark up your house. If he's not in his crate, he's leashed to you, if he's not leashed to you, you're WITH him paying 100% attention. This way you never take your eyes off him, he's never unsupervised and wandering the house and you can begin to trust and train him again.
Best Wishes

Oh yes it will, you will have to give his weein spot a good clean, it will take is hormones about 3-4 weeks to settle down, after that he should be fine, still take him out as many times as you can, even if its just in the garden until his stitches come out (about 10 days) dont worry maxmillion, it will calm right down....... :-)

getting your dog spayed should help with his marking problem...it worked for my dog and it also helped with his constant humping...if it doesnt help, there are chemicals that you can spray around your house that will help teach your dog that he cant pee there...GOOD LUCK

Yes, it should take care of the problem... But, FYI a female is spayed, a male is neutered....

It might help, but there's no guarantee. Males want to mark their territory. If he's not too mature, it might help.
