My boyfriend likes my hair down, and the only way to really do that on a regular basis is to cut it short. But its grown out a lot and I'm just starting to get used to it long. I'd like to make him happy b/c I don't really wear makeup or ever get all dolled up. But its been several years since I had hair this length.

I actually think long hair is more versatile than short hair. You can do a lot more with it. You can please your boyfriend by wearing it down when you're with him. But if it gets in your way when you're doing something, or if the weather is hot, just braid it, or pull it up in a ponytail to get it off your face. Short hair can be cute on some people, but I personally don't like short hair on me.
You can also compromise and wear your hair a medium length, either just past your neck or shoulder-length. Have it cut in long layers next to your face. That way you can have the best of both worlds -- not too long, not too short. I think you'll like that length.

My stylist says when ladies ask her about long or short hair and say their guys like them with long hair, she asks- who has to fix the hair, wash it, style it, etc and for the lady to do what she likes best because if she is unhappy with her hair it will make her happier.

If you want to wear it up, then do it. If he really loves you, then he's not going to leave you over the way your hair looks.

All guys prefer a girls hair down.
And they like it long.
So do what u want, wear your hair down when u guys go out. Wear it up when your doing your thing.

He's only your boyfriend.
You'll make him much happier when your happy with yourself.
If he can't be happy with the length of your hair, then basically (hate to break it to yah) he's not happy with you.
