Small amounts of what your cat enjoys as a treat is OK. Most cats have enough sense not to eat what will kill them.
I guess that is the other reason men are referred to as dogs and women as to cats.
Dogs will eat what will kill them and therefore shorter life spans for men....don't you just love those play on words?

Can Cats Eat Cheese

Most cats are lactose intolerant, so milk or dairy products that still contain lactose will tend to give cats diarrhea. Hard cheese, like cheddar, generally has all the lactose digested by the cheese making enzymes, so most cats can handle a little bit of cheese as an occasional treat, but it's very rich, so not too much and not too often.

i have a lovely cat who loves a little bit of cheddar, i normally just give her a tiny piece if i'm eating a cheese sandwich for example. there's no harm in giving a small piece as a treat, just don't give it regularly, no more than once a week say (to mine it's more like only twice a month). The thing to remember is that cats suffer from Lactose intolerance, the natural sugar found in dairy products, and dairy stuff can give them the runs (if u get my meaning) if fed too regularly or in quantities too large.

Yes, if it's just in small amounts as a treat. I had a cat who LOVED cheese. Some cats have trouble digesting milk products, but a little bit won't hurt.

My cats like all sorts of weird things, it's okay as long as they're in good health and you don't give them much. Try cream cheese, just a little dab on your finger for them to lick off. My cats love it, and it's got to be better for them than cheese curls or McDonald's french fries, which they will take and run with so the other doesn't get it!

I don t know.. But know I m a bit worried to be honest. I like just fed my cat some cheese. (It was cut up.) I have 3 cats. One (Bella) ignored it, the other (Harley) ate one piece, but my last cat (Tinker) ate like 15-30 small squares.. She seems okay, but I m still worried. And she got mean when I took the cheese from her, and swat at me.

A sliver once in awhile is fine. When I buy marble (mixed yellow and white) cheese, my cat will nibble on a tiny piece of the yellow, but she turns her nose up if I offer her the white part.
By far, her favourite treat is Vegemite and the vet said it's OK to give her a little every now and then. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~macinnis@ozemail.com.au/vegemite.htm

I like cheese and none of my cats really cares for it. Like anything else in the human food categories it's OK as a treat and not good for a major part of the diet.
