First of all, "prince uranus", don't judge before you know what you're talking about. For fear of sounding...well...like everyone else who encounters these attitudes, most people don't cut because they think it looks cool. That is kind of a rediculous thing that a few people do, that give the rest of the people who SI a bad rep.

Second, if you really are losing that much blood, that means that there are like...copious amounts gushing from your body. That is quite unhealthy, if it is indeed the case. It is far more likely that its the adrenaline or endorphins that are released when you cut. The sudden feeling of...well...feeling can be overwhelming.

From someone who is also going through this, it can be a big relief to find someone who you can talk to that understands - a big wieght off your shoulders.

Best of luck in life.

Hi this is coming for a mental health nurse that works with teenagers. The chances that it is due to extreme blood loss due to superficial cutting is rare. It is probably the adrenaline rush. First off cutters in general do cut to fill their need for attention to some degree. What is going on that requires you to seek out this negative attention. Ussually it does have to do with a past truma that you are unwilling to deal with. By no means do I see this as bad... You are young and still learning coping methods. In my opinion you need to get so help to find out why you cant control your life. Tell your mom, Tell her you need help. Talk to a counselor or even a short term antidepressant. Believe me sweetie, this isnt the way you want to continue. Best of Luck!

My immediate reaction to that question is STOP DOING IT! I used to cut...thank God I havent for about 3 years now. But I know from experience...it isnt easy to stop. I still have days where my skin crawls to just feel the physical pain. Please, I urge you to talk to a therapist or your doctor. If nothing else, if you feel like you cant do that, talk to someone that has cut before and does not anymore and let them be an ear to hear you when you want to cut, or just want to talk. If you need to know more, just ask me. just click on my profile and send me an email.
