Hair grows approximately 3/4 of an inch a month. It grows faster in summer, and grows the fastest from age 15 to 22. It takes a lot of patience to grow long hair, and it does require special care to keep it looking nice. The ends need to be trimmed regularly in order to prevent splits, because once the ends split, the hair can break further up the hair shaft.

There are no magic formulas to speed up the rate of hair growth. However, good nutrition will help the hair stay strong and healthy as it grows out. Once my hair dresser told me to eat a lot of vegetables if I wanted my hair long. Well, the next time I went to have my hair done, she asked if I had followed her advice. I said yes, and she asked me what the result was. I told her I had to shave my legs more often. LOL!

Brushing the hair will stimulate the scalp and distribute the natural oils throughout the hair. If your hair is oily, you can wash it every day with a mild shampoo. If it's dry, a once-a-week shampoo is all that's necessary. Be sure to use a conditioner after shampooing, especially on the ends. When combing out after a shampoo, start at the ends and work your way up. This keeps hair tangle-free while it's being combed out. Never brush hair when it's wet, as it can break easily.

There are supplements you can take that are supposed to be good for the hair. Don't use harsh chemicals, such as dyes, bleaches or straighteners on your hair, as they can damage it.

I can't think of anything else, other than you just have to be patient and you'll eventually have some results. It's really not the length of the hair that's important. It's how shiny, and well-kept your hair is, that will get you the admiring glances.

Somebody else just asked this question, so I'll give you the same answer I gave her:

I'm not aware of anything on the market that is proven to make hair grow faster. Nor do any special techniques like brushing it 100 times a night. The average hair grows about a half-inch a month, roughly six inches a year. To keep your hair healthy as it grows so it can get longer, you can do several things to ensure that breakage and tangles won't keep you from getting those long locks.

Vitamin E (or even pre-natal vitamins) is great in promoting healthy hair, nails, skin, etc. Garnier Fructis also makes shampoo and conditioner (Long & Strong), which is what I use to help protect my fine hair and keep it long. Avoid convertibles and sunroofs, as they'll "eat" your hair when open.

You'll also want to trim the ends to get rid of split ends every six weeks to keep your hair healthy looking.

I think there was a study once were it proved that if you stood on your hear for 10 minutes a day, your hair grows 2 feet longer in a year than it would normally.

Other than that just keep your hair healthy. Brush your hair, and keep a healthy scalp. Massages and regular brushing should keep everything growing at a good rate.

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://bitly.im/aMKUg While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

the only thing that is sure to work is a healthy diet, and vitamins. over-brushing can actually damage ur hair, and make it break off. conditioner is good for keeping your hair healthy and soft, but no shampoo or conditioner will help it grow.

I know that using prenatal vitamins will work. I know you can go to Costco and purchase a big bottle and take one a day. It really works because I did it too! I think there is only one type at Costco too.
