Yes. I believe it to be the word of God right along with the Bible. For all of you who are so quick to judge, read the book before you make any judgements about it.

Emphatically so. The Book of Mormon is another testament to the divinity of Jesus Christ and was formed from the many brass and gold plates from the ancients that migrated to the American hemisphere at God's commands.

The writings of the prophets, from 2200 B.C. to the last one in 421 A.D., testifies of these scriptures that contains a fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ--much of which had been removed from the books in the Bible.

To ignore and condemn the truthfulness of these scriptures when not taking the time to read and pray over is unconscionable.

To claim that God speaks no more through prophets and has not given additional scripture to all His children on earth is ludicrous at best. The Bible prophesied the coming forth of the Book of Mormon and you can read it in Ezekial 37: 15-28.

Added note: The poster "Bama" conveniently left out important parts of the errors that were corrected in the Book of Mormon. This is what it says:

Some minor errors in the text have been pepetuated in past editions of the Book of Mormon. This edition contains corrections that seem appropriate to bring the material into conformity with prepublication manuscripts and early editions by the Prophet Joseph Smith.

The truth is told here. But what has been revealed as a result of the hundreds of translations the Bible endured from Latin to Greek, to Hebrew and then English? Who were they that did the translations? Was it God? No. They were learned men subject to the frailties of error too. To use an error-free Bible one will have to find the earliest Greek text--wouldn't you think?

I believe the Bible is the word of God and since the book of Mormon contradicts the Bible in several places, it is not.

Also, in my copy of the Book of Mormon, there is a note on the introduction page that this edition corrects some errors found in previous editions. The word of God does not and never has contained errors, therefore, the Book of Mormon is not the word of God.

The Book of Mormon is not the word of God!!
It is the words of Joseph Smith! This book was never translated out of gold plates found in a hill in upstate NY! Joseph Smith made up the book of Mormon so that the Indians would not kill him and while he was at it he used some of the words from the Bible and twisted them to fit his unorthodox book!

If you look closely at the language that the book of Mormon uses you will find that it is written in King James English! And where the men who wrote the Bible used italics to indicate that they added a word to make the thought more readible, the book of Mormon does the same thing when it uses biblical texts. This should not be because if the book of Mormon was translated out of gold plates found in a hill in 1820 something the language would not be King James English but it would have been translated into a more modern version of American English!

The Book of Mormon is the word of God, he was prophecied in the bible, many times. I won't give the references for the fact that most of the people wouldn't believe even if God himself was to come to them and bear witness that it is of him.

The Book of Mormon is not of God.

No, it is not. If it was the word of God, why was it created as there is already the Holy Bible, which is the word of God.

no, especially not sice there have been sooo many additions and changes to it over the years... not to mention that the BOM is hardly used as anything other than a prop... the real doctrine of the LDS comes from other books and contradicts the BOM.
