I purchased a few precooked chicken pies. The chicken was precooked and the crust was not. The pies were frozen when I picked them up. I cooked 2 pies and the company I was expecting didnt get to come and have dinner. My question is.. can I re-freeze these and they still be safe to eat? Thanks for your time.

yes, they're safe. But the crust of the pies will not be the same as fresh baked. Any kind of pastry is better if it is baked the same day it is eaten. that's why you freeze pies with the crust unbaked. But it is safe.

IF U R TALKING ABOUT THE COOKED PIES YES.JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT THEM IN A ZIP LOCK BAG.THEY WILL STAY FRESH LONGER.MAKE SURE WHEN U HEAT THEM BACK UP THE NEXT TIME THAT EITHER U EAT THEM OR THROW THEM AWAY,BECAUSE WHEN U KEEP HEATING AND REHEATING FOOD U R AT A RISK OF GETTING FOOD POISON.

Yes, they can be refrozen since the meat is cooked. The crust may be a bit dried out, though.

How long did they sit out after you cooked them? If it's less than an hour, they should be fine- just be sure to reheat them quickly- avoid the "danger zone"- 40 to 140!!

Yes, you can re-freeze them but they won't be as good. I would put them in the frig and try and eat them in the next few days or give them away to be eaten right away.

I agree. The general rule I've heard is that if it's cooked already you can refreeze it.

If it's raw it isn't a good idea to thaw and refreeze.

sure it might be a good idea to have extra gravy when you heat them back up though. For some reason they seem to lose gravy in the heating cooling process.
