I had a procedure done a while back - my doc said "many patients are up and around in a couple of days"... I was not. It took me about a week and a half before I could go back to work comfortably. They may give you a "recovery range" - depending upon how well your body heals and how it reacts to the surgery, you may be at the early - or the late - end of that recovery range. Based on your age, I would opt on the safe side and plan for the late end of the recovery range.

i had a tummy tuck 2 years ago. recovery was longer than i thought. there is a great support group online, do a search on plastic surgery recovery. there are people there going thru the same things, and people there that have had the surgeries, and they are of great help. sometimes the doctors dont really give you the whole scope. there is quite a bit of temporary swelling, and some at home post surgery stuff that you will probably need a hand with the first week after surgery. good luck. i am sure glad i had mine, i had a large weight loss and there was just no way to eliminate the excess ..

I had a breast reduction about 7 years ago. Don't listen to the doctors, in regards to recovery time. My doctor said I could go back to work in a few days ... Pffffffft ... yeah, right!! Breast reduction is painful ... I still had the drain in a week later. As the pain receptors begin to heal, I got sharp pain in both breasts constantly ... and to top it off, they demand that a woman wear a binder or bra 24/7 ... NOT comfortable.
My recovery time was approx. 2 weeks ... don't expect to go back to work for a bit ... allow yourself adequate time to heal. I don't know who these women are, that the doctors base the healing time on ... bionic women? Good luck ... you won't regret the breast lift ... honest!!
BTW: I developed a blood clot, immediately after surgery. I woke up to find my left breast 4 times the size of my right breast!! I thought OMG ... what have they done to me?!! Really funny now ... but, scared the crap outta me then ... lol.

I had a breast reduction 10 years ago. Just follow your doc's rules for recovery to the letter and you will be fine.

Tummy tuck surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
