She is not resting, sleeping, etc. I know they do this when they are. She is favouring it. If I try to pick her up, she won't climb onto my finger with that foot first - she MUST use the other one. She is climbing to the top of the cage and back to the bottom, and her foot LOOKS fine. Does anyone know what could have caused this ???

Someone asked about her perches - they are all different sizes, shapes, materials. She has every perch possible (SPOILED?) She is using her wing to support herself now - but her foot still looks fine, not cracked, not red, no weird bumps. She is about 3 years old. She just layed 3 eggs (they are gone now) .. and she was sitting on them for about a week. Not sure if this has anything to do with it ???

If it doesn't look scaly or dry, take her to the vet. She may have injured it and gotten an abscess, which is sometimes deadly, because birds are so sensitive to infections.
If it looks scaly or dry, does she have bathing areas and perches other than wood? Wooden perches suck the moisture right out of feet until they crack and bleed. Sometimes the skin even gets infected. Offer her some pet store ornacyn to keep infection from forming (if it has take her to the vet to get better antibiotics) and then give her a pedi-perch, which will trim her nails and maintain the moisture balance in her feet. Rub her feet with an extremely tiny, tiny bit of baby oil at night. Giving her natural perches like manzita or coiled rope exercises the foot and leg muscles, which really benefits a caged bird. If she's sore because she needs exercise they'll prevent it in the future.

Hrrrm.... it could be several things. You didn't say what kind of perches you have. Are they all one size? Are they cement perches and/or are they very rough? It could be your tiel has a sprain in their foot and that's why they're favoring it. Birds are left footed so that side would be more likely to be injured. If you have more than one size of perch, it could be anything. An older bird may exhibit signs of arthritis. Younger birds may have accidental scratched themselves and the scratch is too small to see with the eye.
The other option is that it's the start of a foot infection. The birds foot gets sore, then turns red and a sore appears. In both cases I'd take the perches out and take a long old sock and fill it 1/2 way with rice. Put the sock in the cage. It should ease the bird's foot while providing some foot muscle work. It's also soft enough to not irritate their foot.
Good luck to you!

Take her to the vet if you can’t physically see anything wrong. The problem might not be with her foot, but could be located further up the leg. If you can, try to gently feel her up from the foot to her body. See if there are any lumps, or if she shows any signs of soreness along the way.
It could be a number of things but to not worry you I’ll just leave it at “take her to a vet” :)

Take her to an Avian Vet. She may be egg bound(I am reading about her laying 3 eggs), which would be pressing on her kidneys and nerves.

hmm i'm not sure. i have a parrotlett, so i know how you feel. you could try looking it up online, or calling your vet. it doesn't sound TOO serious, but you should look into it. sorry, i wish i could be of more help!! good luck.
i'm not sure if this will help or not, but here:

check with a veterinarian if you're not sure, though.

Birds in cages can get foot fungus and cause them to get sore.
