Banana is the common name used for herbaceous plants in the genus Musa, which because of their size and structure, are often mistaken for trees. Bananas are cultivated for their fruit which bear the same name, and to a lesser extent as ornamental plants. Bananas are of the family Musaceae. Globally, bananas rank fourth after rice, wheat and maize in human consumption; they are grown in 130 countries worldwide, more than any other fruit crop. Bananas are native to tropical southeastern Asia but are widely cultivated in tropical regions. In popular culture and commerce, "banana" usually refers to the soft, sweet "dessert" bananas that are usually eaten raw. The bananas from a group of cultivars with firmer, starchier fruit, generally used in cooking rather than eaten raw, are typically known as plantains.

Most people assume that bananas grow on trees, but this is not true. Bananas
actually grow on plants that are giant herbs. These herbs are related to the lily
and orchid family. Banana plants are perennial plants that produce fruit for many
years. The plants are among the world's largest plants without woody stems. The
plant’s gigantic leaves can reach up to 30 feet in length and the stems can weigh
up to 100 pounds.

bananas do not grow on trees they grow on plants ,and they reproduce by making shoots
when a stem produces a bunch of bananas ,you must cut it down it will die anyway and one stem only produces one bunch
but at the bottom many new shoots form
to plant bananas ,you transplant these shoots
some babanas like the platania with flowers have 3 seeds in the banana, but most large platinum and bananas are seedless.
I have about 10 varieties in my garden.
to plant one shoot use about 2 to 4 square metres
the large varieties will ocupy about 5 square metres,in 5 years,by continuesly producing more and more shoots at the bottom
to ensure better production ,we thin these out ,and transplant them else where
and all of the plant we chop up for compost ,after it has given a bunch of bananas

Bannanas are now indeed seedless due to the growing techniques used moons ago because we didnt like seeds in our fruit. New plants are grown from cuttings off full plants. If we ever get a bug or virus to attack on our plant crops today you can say goodbye to nannas as we dont have any seeds.

yes you are right you can not seed a banana tree, still that kind of vegetable is reproduced and grows.... as many other plants they have an asexual reproduction, it is a gigantic herb that grows from an under ground stem and forms a false trunk with leaves.
there emerges a large flower spike, with numerous individual flowers, that bends downward to become fruits. after the plants had fruits, they die and are replaced by others that arise from the underground stem, and that process can keep on going for many years.

bananas aren't seedless - where did you hear that?
the seeds are very tiny and buried in the fruit. In reality I suppose you could say that the banana IS the seed pod.

Banannas are not seedless. They will flower and produce seeds if left on the tree. That's what I believe.
