Hiya dream,
You've a lot to go through, she might be having pains in her bellie, they can get un-comfy from time to time, and Dream it last for about 3 weeks, its gonna get worse before it gets better, try and keep her to 1 room, or even better crate her, but try and give her lots of exercise (3am in the morning lol ) good luck hunni, i don't envy you one bit lol lol....... :-)

Yes, they can be pretty calm at first, but after the first week, watch out. If you let her run loose, she will head for the nearest male dog, and there will be lots of male dogs coming around. They can smell the scent of a dog in heat for a couple of miles away. Unless you keep a close eye on her, she will be pregnant. The heat cycle lasts about 3 weeks.

The heat cycle is for 21 days. 21 days of pure hell!
If she does not have the awards and paperwork to throw nice pups spaid her asap!
We had a male dog put a whole in our shop wall trying to get to my female in heat! I have also had a male dog get out of his house and get somehow into mine and tear the whole place up! I was so mad about this one!!
She might be uncomfy right now is all. Don't let her out of your site lol!
Her is a site to look over...

She's calm because she's waiting for an escape route. She wants to get with other dogs. This usually lasts a week to ten days.
