Yes, I think that faith involves all of these dimensions. (i) It involves believing that God exists and that He has communicated to us in His word, the Bible. (ii) It also involves doing what He has told us to do in the Bible, the most important thing being admitting that we need His forgiveness and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. (iii) Finally, it involves trusting that He has our best interests at heart and living not only a life of obedience to God, but also, a life of total dependence on God for all of our needs.

I think there are 3 dimensions of Faith. When John the Baptist accepted Jesus as the Messiah what occured? John saw the Holy Spirit descend upon Jesus. Faith requires seeing, recognizing, and believing. John was hoping to see the Messiah because he knew he was the messenger for the Messiah. This same pattern happened in chapter 6 of John's Gospel when Jesus was trying to explain He is the Bread of life. And again, this pattern on the road to Emmaus in Luke24.

I can see what you mean as well. Scripture does say faith without works is dead. Good points and thought provoking. Thanks!

Chito,
I draw upon the Greek words for faith to understand it. For one thing, Belief is a part of faith.

Faith is an action, based upon belief, sustained by confidence.

So a. and c. are redundant. Trusting has belief in it. And doing, that's action. And that's correct to assume as being a part of faith.

So if we are going to use an action in faith, we can therefore ssay that we are faithing, isn't that so?

I am Faithing in my Lord Jesus Christ to save me from my sins.

How true!

Hebrews 11:1-Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Mark 10:27-And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Hebrews 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
