Ministers earn a salary and, just like anyone else, they have a right to purchase anything they can afford to purchase with their own salary. How many kids could have been fed with the $$$ your parents spent raising you?

How many children could be fed for one trillion dollars? That's the estimated cost of the war in Iraq..

1,000 Billion dollars. And each Billion is 1000 Million. So a Million Million dollars is what Iraq has cost us.

I wouldn't worry too much about your minister's car. Not even if he spend a billion dollars on it. Because even then it would only be 0.001% what we've spent on this war. And us invading Iraq has done very little, if any, good for anyone. We could of been helping our own citizens. Or helping starving children. Or supporting other humanitarian efforts. Take your pick.

And another answerer is correct. Don't judge how others spend their money. There are plenty of people who work at BMW in various roles that he supported, there isn't anything wrong with that, and he had no malicious intent. Generally, it's considered ethical to have one nice car, one nice watch, etc, as long as you aren't buying doubles and triplicates for no reason.

Why should the minister not be able to use his money as he sees fit like everyone else? Ministers are not among the most highly paid professionals.
But to answer it, probably the same number of hungry kids that could have been fed if your parents' doctor didn't have a BMW.

Why don't you give up your computer and sell it so you can donate the proceeds to charity. You first hypocrite. I give to charity and still have what I want. There is nothing wrong with owning things but you have to decide where your heart is and what portion of it will care about hungry children. Thank you for reminding me of this. I will go to my PayPal account right now and donate some money to help someone. I am not lying. People should care and I always have and I should always be deligent enough to see how much more I can help those that have less. It doesn't matter how much or to who you give but that you do and that you give to those less fortunate that are hurting right now.

How many poor could have been helped with $200,000+ paid the President of the United Way, or the $2+ million spent to build an ocean shore house for the Covina (CA) Captain of the Salvation Army. If there is a nonprofit organization, there is someone taking advantage of it.

That could be an unfair question, if your minister is buying a vehicle for use, he needs one.

A more fair question is that if the world can be fed with 18 billion dollars, how come the people that have 50 billion and more feed at least one poor country? I could not sit there with billions of dollars and think about people starving.

wow imagine that-- someone who works hard for their money buying a nice vehicle! the nerve of that guy! what do your parents drive? maybe you should have a little heart to heart with them about donating some money to charity. or hey, better yet, why not ask them to withhold your allowance or spending money for the next year and send it off to the poor? the possibilities are endless! you have no business judging this man you have no idea what he does with his money or finances. for all you know he could have been saving for a very long time for the car. dont judge, it's really not your place.

Somehow I think you could have just said, why do some preachers abuse their position and fleece the flock!
We are called to assemble and by doing so,collect money to feed the homeless and such.It also says in the bible that we (should) give money to our teachers.Which are our pastors. You will always have a rotten apple in the bunch! Please don't think all ministers are corrupt. If you think its easy waking up every Sunday, going to hospitals, making house calls, praying for the sick, you are severely misguided! being a preacher is a full time job.
God Bless

Many will eat beacuse of his purchase. The car salesman's family, the dealership owner's family, the person working at department of Motor Vehicles' family, the autoworker's family, the steelworker's family, etc, etc, etc. Don't be so short sighted. The money isn't gone. It's merely been transfered from one person to another. It will continue to be spent again, and again making at least 2 parties better off each and every time.

Your parents' minister drives a BMW?!
Sounds like your parents need a new church!
All the pastors I'VE known drove old used cars, and they certainly weren't European cars either!
As for the rest, greed is everywhere. Why should a church be any different?
