OK, I was reading another question. It was about Christians defending their religion and the overwhelming majority of answers said that all Christians were narrow minded and didn't like anyone asking about their relgion. I am a Christian and I don't really care. I know some people are like that, but most aren't. Yet for some reason a lot of people give Christians bad names.

P.S. If your gona say that Christians are narrow minded then don't even bother to answer.

Also how come many people feel like they can say that all Christians are a certain thing. Like they only believe in God and think that science is all wrong.

1.) I think "most" of them earn that title. (Not all but most)
2.) I don't think "all" Christians are "narrow-minded" I think some are.
3.)I think "most" Christians have no respect for others to believe in what they want to. My reason for thinking that is the large amount of Christians on here and in person who push their beliefs on so many others when its unwanted. So many of them insult us Atheist daily for not believing in their god.
4.) You can believe in what ever you want to just don't push your beliefs on me.
5.) People should not insult others if they can dish it out but not take it their self.
6.) Maybe simply because of what the bible says and so many Christians say their self they don't believe in science/evolution. It's not like people just randomly made that up about Christians.

Non-Christian can only go by what they see. If Christians who don't actively approve of terrorist attacks on Abortion Clinics in their name and that of their faith say nothing, then the terrorists become the Face of All Christians to non-Christians because that is the only thing they ever see. Christians do the exact same thing towards Muslims, condemning all for the actions of the few. George Bush, claiming his authority as head of a Christian Nation, declares a Crusade, how do you think that sounds to others? I, myself, am Pagan, Christians on the forum are constantly calling us Satanists, in point of fact Pagans don't believe there is a Satan, or any other source of evil outside the hearts of mankind. People claiming to be Christian spew hate all over this forum and others, you almost never see any Christians who repudiate them. When we are told from all sides that Christianity is reflected by "God said it, I believe it, that settles it!", what, other than narrow minded, can you expect to be considered? No one gets respect without giving it, and far to many who claim to speak for all Christians don't understand that. I've been telling evangelical Christians for over 30 years that their argument didn't convince me the first thousand times I heard it, it's not going to do it now, then walking away as they screamed insults and told me I was damned. If Christians want to change they way they're seen, then they to change the way they act.

If you're not narrow minded, don't let it bother you. You must know there ARE a lot of narrow minded Christians though.

as a whole, i do not believe that Christians are narrow-minded. some ppl may believe this because no other religion advertises their faith. there are some christians that i have encountered who can be labeled as "narrow-minded". they tried to shove their religion down my throat, and when i politely told them that i was buddhist, they told me that i was going to h***. there are just those special cases that are like this.
