People say that you just need to be patient and that there will eventually be love in your life, but I've heard that for years. I'm a confident, healthy, intelligent man, who believes in romance and respect in a relationship. In the past 20 years, I have not found a woman who views those things as being important.

Is it time to give up and acknowledge that I'll be alone for the rest of my life?

I am exactly in the same position as you are. It's hard to acknowledge the reality that you are trying to acknowledge because im on the process of accepting that reality too. But im only 21. I just had a great one with my first relationship and it's kinda hard to love again.

Everybody should learn to give up. But giving up doesn't always mean that you have to acknowledge that you'll be alone for the rest of your life. Giving up means to wait for and not find it because it will find you. It will find you at the right time. :-) And when your patient enough to wait for that time, it will be perfect for you. God bless you..

No dont give up but if your looking for love in a bar your most likely going to just get some lovin but she wont be the one you take to meet mom. Get some single male friends get all slicked up and go out.You will find the one just keep looking you never know she might find you first good lock.

Well go ahead and start. Because even though you seem to think you've been open minded about finding love, it seems you have a little laundry list in your head about the ideal woman, and once you have that no real woman will ever match your fantasy life.

Maybe my story will help:

After many failed relationships, I gave up, myself. I determined to put my energy into something else. At the time, I was 46.

I divorced my latest failed Significant Other, and moved to the U.S. Within two years, I had met the most delightful widower; we were married three years ago, and are the most perfect companions you could hope to meet.

I hope this happens for you, too...and, soon!

No, I think your expectations on a womens views is maybe to high relationships have flaws, you can't have everything in common that wouldn't be healthy. You'll find her if you let her into your life.

Love comes around when you least expect it. Maybe if you don't plan on finding love, it will eventually come to you. There is someone out there for everyone! Good luck and God Bless you

dont think you should give up. dont try so hard in searching, sometimes when we look very hard , we pick up the wrong kind. your significant other might be right under your nose. you should find peace for the sake of being at peace with yourself in all that you do.
