What is happening is probably aftershocks of the panic attack...first the panic attack upsets your system and then you're afraid you're going to have another so you are stressed and then because you are stressed your body feels different and then you have more anxiety because you feel different and then you have a panic attack because you think these symptoms might be some huge illness and not anxiety...it's vicious.

Panic attack is feeling scared, heart pumping, feeling anxious, really nervous feeling-I guess a real extreme can cause dizziness, rapid breathing etc but my advice is you go to the doctor and MAKE SURE it is not something physical before you determine panic attacks for the sysmtons once the attack is over go away unless you are constantly in a panic and that is bad for stresses your HEART. Anytime I faint and chest feels funny(never have fainted but were I) would go get checked-for some serious pyhsical conitions like high blood pessure/heart can cause the same symptons.

I use to get panic attaks all the time until I was put on medicine for depression. I used to get a pain in my chest upset stomach.(felt like I was on a roller coaster all the time) I was having them two or three times a day. It was a terrible feeling. Stress and depression are the key causes for panic attacks. I have been panic attack free for over a year now.

All of that has to do with the panic attack. You need to see a doctor and he can give you something to stop the panic. I have had panic attacks for a long time and trust me, sometimes you need something to stop them. My doctor also told me that if you are having a panic attack, your lips will go numb. Watch for that the next time something happens. That way you know you are not having a heart attack or something.

I believe you should see your doctor about panic attacks; they can disrupt you life for a long time to come. I have them sometimes and still take medication for anxiety. I think panic and anxiety are from a chemical imbalance and is probably associated with some type of depression. I suggest visiting a therapist and/ or your Dr. Soon; very soon.

Those are some of the possible symptoms. One way I would describe a panic attack is an out of body experience where you feel seperated from the world.

I have panic disorder, so I know ALL about this problem! It definitely sucks, but now that I'm on medication I don't have attacks very often. When I get them I feel like I'm going to faint, and my heart feels like it's going to beat out of my chest. I get light headed and dizzy and I feel like I'm going to vomit. It usually happens to me in crowded places, where I feel claustrophobic. When I was pregnant, and I didn't want to take medication for my disorder, I found ways to deal with it, but it was still difficult. When this happens to you, you have to remember that it's all in your head, even though it causes physical symptoms. Whenever I used to get them, I used to repeat things over and over - like "This is all in your head. You're not dying. You're not having a heart attack. Just calm down. It's a panic attack. You're fine." Usually, it would get me through whatever I was doing. If it happens when you're in public, the best thing to do is to get outside, especially if the air is cooler. Practice breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth to regulate your breathing. Even with these tips, it's really hard to control panic attacks, and if you have them often, maybe you should consider going on medication for them. They have medications that you can take daily, or medications that you can take when you have an attack. Both have worked wonders for me! Good luck hun! I hope this helps you. You're definitely not alone!

That's a really good question. Did you have your doctor check you out? It sounds like you really need to ask a professional on this one because panic attacks and heart problems often times have similar symptoms. I don't want to make you worry more than you already are but if you haven't seen a doctor then please go just so that you know what is going on with you and don't have to worry.

Urgh, my WHOLE body gets numb and I end up curling myself into a tight foetal position. Yes for days after I still get dizzy occasionally, I get a tightness in my chest, and my breathing gets a little laboured sometimes.

yes all of the above, you may need some relaxation exercises to work on when you feel a panic attack coming on, for instance take a good brisk walk , it helps me when i have one.
