I haven't tried this product yet, but I am using another from the same company and will be trying this one soon. I am also short of cash to do all at once, but I use the product for bad gums (replacing toothpaste and mouthwash) and will probably always use it since it has shrunk my pockets from 9 and 10 to 1-3. Pretty great, I think. Anyway, http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com?kbid=2141 is for tooth whitening. At least read this info and decide for yourself. The product for perio disease is: http://www.oramd.com?kbid=2141. I have put it out there on a few other dental questions. I love it and am so thankful to have found it.

Most whitening & tartar control toothpastes have an abrasive to them. However listerine sells a pre-brushing whitening rinse that does work. The best thing to do is to avoid smoking, coffee, tea & red wine or if you don't want to avoid them, brush afterwards. Also you can try some type of whitening strips, but be cautious what you use, most cause sensitivity. If you do use them and experience sensitivity, use sensodyne toothpaste. But don't brush with it, brush with ur normal toothpaste (always with a soft bristle brush) and then take some sensodyne on ur clean finger and rub along the teeth that are giving you sensitivity. Let it sit there for approximately 5 minutes, then spit out, but don't rinse. Hope this helps.

Personally, I would only go for the whitening that is done in the dentist office. I have heard that all these whitening products can damage the enamel of the tooth, if used too frequently. They can also make your teeth super-sensitive. I would say- Leave it to the pros. It might cost more in the long run, but your teeth have to be with you until the end (unless you want to pay big bucks for fake ones!!)

None of them work. If you're going to buy a whitening toothpaste and your heart is set on it, don't give in to the temptation to buy the most expensive one because as humans we always think if it costs more it must be better.
So if you're buying whitening toothpaste, go CHEAP because none of them work anyway.

They only help a little, to really get the job done you need to get some whitening strips.

i have used almost every brand of toothpaste with all kinds of snazzy gimmicks. They all doesn't seem to do anything major. But I have stuck with the Crest flavored ones Lemon, Vanilla, Cinnaminon. They seem to leave my mouth clean and a tiny, itty bitty, small, micro bit whiter. Also its the most refreshing and it foams up good, unlike paste.

Toothpaste don't work because it doesn't stay on your teeth long enough.
