how would you find out what the truth really is?for instance my mother was "adopted" but the resemblnse to the family is uncanny even down to birth marks, now my "gran" only one left alive+remains ever so tight lipped about the subject that in fact when searches were done by an agency mysteriously "vanished" ever so conveniently_now heres my theory my grandad had an affair with my nans older sister who would have been a widow but my grandad+my "nan" took my mother+brought her up as theirs to save scandal(now a lot of details of stories+evidence point to this including fact my "great-aunt" had a strong bond+love for my mum when she was a child+my mum lived with her for 3months when she was 10,also my "nans" description of my mums birth mum,was that she was a whore+my mum also had 2older half bro's, coincidently my "great aunt" has 2sons older than my mum )so for my mums sake how do i find out this stuff and how (all are dead except my nan who wont talk to me anyway+all papers have gone?

You could start with public records. Get a copy of your mom's birth certificate and see what names are on it. Look for hospital records and birth announcements in the paper. See if you can locate all of the birth records. You might be able to get more information for a clearer picture.

Finding out the truth may cause those you love hurt. Consider dropping your search for the sake of those around you.

if your mom's birth certificate says what? there should be an original from the hospital that would be pubic record unless it was a closed adoption...you could probably do DNA on your "nan" and your mom...with their consent of course...
