I dated a guy for 3 years...now he is dating someone else. However, he will still tell me that he will never stop loving me and that he will never close the door on us. Hello??!! What is that?? If he is so apparently into me (with much sarcasm), why is he dating someone else?

Honestly, it sounds like he's keeping his options open...stringing you along in case his current relationship doesn't work out or just to have you on the "booty call" list.

Move on, even if your heart's not in it. You don't deserve to be anyone's second choice!

Men are territorial, like all mammals. Once you belong to him, a typical male can't bear the thought of letting anyone else have you, even if he doesn't want you right now. So he's keeping you on a string to prevent that happening. That's one explanation.

The other possible explanation is that he does still love you, but he's got the message that you're not interested. He's letting you know how he feels, in the hope that you might change your mind - but so far, you haven't given him any encouragement.

If you want to know which is his reason, give him an ultimatum. If he wants you, then he has to dump his current girlfriend and come back to you. Otherwise, he can keep the door open as long as he likes, but you're never going to be coming through it, because you're never going to see him again.

there are probably things about you that he does not want in a girlfriend but he can still have feelings for you. when he begins to develop real feelings for his new girl and starts to appreciate the things she brings to the relationship then he will stop bugging you. men take a while to get over a relationship so they pretend that they are over the girl your ex is just honest enough to tell you his feelings doesn't mean he's lying doesn't mean he wants you back. take it as a compliment

He's keeping the door to sex with you open, and possibly friendship. Most of the time it's about the sex though.

he's keeping you around in case it doesn't work out with the other woman. men always want to have someone waiting in the wings
