Has anyone had problems with it (head harness)? I put it on T-Bone, and drove him to the vet... the vet commented that it was correctly fitted, but by the time he got home, he looked like he'd been in a fight. I did notice that it was covered in "eye goo". I didn't put it on him again til about a week later, but he only wore it for about 10 yaqrds before I let a friend try it with her dog, and the sore patch (which was pretty much healed) was bleeding. He doesn't fight it, and it is correctly fitted, so why is it hurting him?!

T-Bone is a Pit Bull, and as I mentioned, the Vet was estatic that he was in a gentle leader and that it was fitted correctly! I was taking him to the vet for an eye tumor, that was where the excess eye goop came from.

It might depend on what kind of dog T-Bone is. My weimaraner has the same kind of problem whereas it seems dogs with longer hair don't. When I put her Gentle Leader on her eyes always get extra gooey and it rubs on her nose to the point where she almost doesn't have any hair on her nose from the rubbing. It looks like she's wearing the Gentle Leader even when she isn't! I have since gotten the Gentle Leader Easy Walk harness for her because I didn't want her losing any more hair. I think that the Gentle Leader simple isn't padded enough and the friction can cause sores and bleeding. I haven't tried this myself, but maybe putting some Moleskin (you can get this at a drug store) or some other kind of padding on it might cause less irritation and still be as effective. Good luck with this!

doesn't sound like it was fitting right. view the video again that came with the general leader, something definetly is wrong.
the general leader harnesses are great to use also.
when trying the head collar again use a treat as a reward when you get it fitted on him so he'll associate the collar with good
behavior.

We use the Halti brand with our dogs, and neither one has ever had any problems with it. IT does essentially the same thing, just the fit is a little different. Our dogs don't even fight them....
