I like the decision that you both have made about the whole "minor" thing. Good job. But then again, you met him on MySpace. I've heard many stories about online predators. And I really hope that you are confident with your decision to meet with this person. Because the "online world" is way different from the "real world".
But to answer your question: No, I don't think he is too old for you.

no, i don't think so, it's just about three years difference. actually i am in the same situation as you. i just turned 18 in august and he turned 21 in july. we meet back in august and we have been together for about a month now and we are doing well. even my mom knows that he is 21 and she is alright with it. as long as you guys are happy together and you guys are not like 10 years apart, then i think it is perfectly fine. you never know he just might be the one. anyways in a couple of years it won't seem like such a big of a differnce. does 21 and 24 sounds far apart? i don't think so. well i hope my info helped you out a little

I know couples who are 10 years different, both ways too, the girl is older. I am a year older than my husband and we are a perfect match, I like the idea of not meeting, but I dont think 3 years difference is that big of a deal, however make sure he isnt a weirdo before you meet him, have a friend check him out somehow.

I can see where you're coming from with the age thing but why is he scared to meet up while you're still 17? Is it because he can get charged with sleeping with a minor? This guy sounds a bit seedy to me. You can be friends with him while you're still 17 just wait until you've gotten to know him/18 to decide if you want to sleep with him.
Good luck!

no ma'am
my boyfriend will be 21 in novemeber and i will not be 18 until may. he is the greatest thing i could have ever asked for. weve been togetther for almost a year and i think our age diffrence makes us closer. hes at work while im in class so it makes the time we do get to see one another seem more special and i still bring out the kid in him, because i admit it i can act 7 ;) but hey. whats life when you cant.
anyways i hope it works out as wonderfully as my relationship has. and remember age is simply a number.

It just depends on your level of maturity. It is common knowledge that girls mature faster then guys so having to date someone your own age can be unfair to you. I admire the fact that you are waiting to meet however does this mean that you might have sex with him? I don't really condone meeting someone on my space but if you are going to do it ,be safe! Meet in a public place and do not go alone!Make sure that others (such as your parents) are aware of the location that you intend on meeting. I don't care how well you think you know this guy...protect yourself.

Not too old but it depends on the guy! You'd be better off, being a minor, with a guy a bit closer to your age. You are sort of on the edge, age-wise. And just be careful with on-line associations.
You are so young and have so much to look forward to! '-)

When he's 21 he'll be able to go to bars and drink. You won't be able to legally do this. I think that 4 years is still a significant age difference at your age.

i do not think he is to old but be careful about meeting people online. you never know what kind of weirdos are out there.when you decide to meet him maybe you should take along a couple of friends and do like a group date until you get to know him better.
good luck and be safe!
