Well, rather than tell you how sinful pornography is, let's look at this from a positive angle. With a wife/husband, you get intimacy that is good and right in God's eyes, something that gives us a glimmer of His love for those that believe in Him. You can't compare that to images in a magazine or on a web site, or paid-for sex. Kinda like becoming a Christian, you look back & wonder how the sinful life before could have ever given you the joy you now have living for Him.

Thank you for this question.....as it helps not just you....but others.
Porn in any form is very bad...but! is on the increase.
Your friend needs help, and it is a very difficult sin to combat.
Seek prayer first...as a way to not just give you peace to help, but also that God will help in a major way.
If it gets worse...then look up on Google ways to help with it...or seek a pastor...They have some good advice and help, if you find one that knows what he is doing.
Yes it is a sin...big one...that satan has a foothold at times, in many christians lives..People do not understand that Christians have human nature, and have to work very hard indeed to stay on track....all the best, and do not leave this problem....as toooo hard!...because it CAN be overcome.

Actually, there is no distinction between big sin and small sin. If you're gonna weight them, big sin is still equals the small sin. Because sin is sin. So, if you are watching porno, you are feeding your mind with dirty & rubbish thoughts. What goes into your head is what is gonna come out of your thought. Dirty nude photos stirs up sensual and devilish ideas into your head, the more you watch the more you are tempted to lust. Don't ever think that just because you are only watching, you are free from sinning. That's a big mistake. For your own sake, stop it and switch to more healthier and cleaner and godly lifestye. Read the bible instead, fill your minds with words of God . Be filled with His Holy Spirit because His words is life-gifving spirit.

Hebrews 13:4 "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."
Revelation 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
And why is it a sin?
Matthew 5:28 "but I say to you, that everyone who LOOKS on a woman to LUST for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
"Some would argue that looking at the naked human body is not evil, because God made it beautiful, and Adam and Eve were naked in the garden. However, that was before sin entered the picture.
"The eye is the window of the soul," as the saying goes. What we look at does affect us spiritually - and can cause us to sin. David "SAW" the woman naked, before he got ideas to sin with her. Jesus said that if a man "looks at a woman to lust after her, he has committed adultery with her already in his heart"; etc. The sin takes place even before the action is executed." (1)

All of our decisions have the power of deadly consequences. Thanks be to God that we don't have to suffer those deadly consequences! There is no comparison between sins. A liar is the same as a killer. A sin is a sin. Ask God to forgive and by his grace we are forgiven. The only sin unforgivable is suicide.

God hates all sin as He is a Holy God. However, sins have differing consequences. Pornography causes lust...lust can lead to immoral lifestyles, either sex out of wedlock or extra-marital affairs. In most cases of rape or sexual abuse, those committing these acts have started out by viewing pornography and graduated to "heavier" things. The good news about God is that He forgives!

if you are sincerely asking, sin is sin no matter what it is. Jesus can forgive any sin other than blaspheming against the Holy Spirit, but other than that all you have to do is ask for forgiveness and Jesus will and Say, "Lord Jesus you know my temptation, help me for I can't get rid of it on my own and watch Jesus do a miracle for He will help you!

I am quite certain it is a bad idea and it leads sometimes to actual sins of lust but the actual act is not mentioned to my knowledge. Lust enters in and it is one of the top 7 things to avoid at all cost, so stay away.

It is an addiction that is difficult to break.
Sin is sin. It makes no difference to God. He wants to forgive and all men to repent. But sin separates man from God. (Isaiah 59:2)
