that is really not the best reason to work ahead that I've heard, but I guess there are worse reasons.
If you are comfortable with it, and you are advanced to begin with and this is what you want to do, then that's your decision.
but, (here's the mom in me coming out) i am constantly guiding my children to not make decisions based on what someone else is or is not doing. When my children come to me and say they don't want to do something because so and so isn't or they say they do want to do something (they previously had no interest in) because so and so is, that usually gets a thumbs down.
I always ask my children "Do you think so and so would do the same for you?" the answer is usually no.
so maybe that's the question you need to ask yourself.
Would this friend do the same for you? you are about to do two years in one to be with her.
Would she do the same for you? Would she slow down for you if you weren't able to handle it?
Just a few things to think about.

Educational requirements for traditional school attendees also apply to those who are being home schooled. If you can meet the graduation requirements for an 8th grade student in your state, you will be allowed to enroll in a high school in your state. Before any decision can be made for you to accelerate your education, consult your State Department of Education for their determination. Most states administer tests you will be required to pass before being accepted into a state high school.

That is totally up to you and what your parents will allow. If going to school is what you want then go for it, it certainly wouldn't hurt to try. But this is a decision that cannot be made for you, weigh your options and hopefully, together with your parents, you can work something out.
Best of luck to you.

Yes, go to High School.
There are so many social events in High School that you will want to participate in; dances, clubs, football games etc. You will also learn how to deal with the public better. You will understand the problems in public school and just how bad their education can get. You will better appreciate the schooling that your parents gave you.
You will also have the chance to meet a lot more kids and improve your number of friends, maybe even the quality of some of your friendships. You need the exposure to other people, especially minorities. If you plan on becoming an adult then you will have to leave home sometime. It is better to do it when you can still have support from your parents. High School will give you a new experience in the larger world. You will also have a chance to experience more of the opposite sex. You are still too young to actually have sex, but you are the correct age to start dating (with your parent’s permission of course). High School is one of the best places to meet these people and to see how they act and interact. There are just some lessons that you can’t learn at home that you can learn in High School.
In high school you will have the chance to take the ACT or the SAT, which are college preparation tests. Colleges use your score on these tests to determine if they want to admit you to their school or not. They also look for outside activates that you will only have access to when you are in High School. The same can be said for scholarships.
If, by some chance, your parents didn't give you enough of an education then you will want to find out before you go into college. It will also be much easier to get into college with at High School degree, otherwise you will have to take a battery of tests to prove that you can handle the work. These tests aren't free either.
Then there is the advanced education. Your parents have to be smart to attempt home schooling, but they don't know everything. There are a lot of classes that you can get in High School that your parents may not be qualified to teach. There might even be some information that you can get from school that they don't know. In High School you can take advanced courses for help in college, and later even for college credit. This will give you a leg up when you go to college.
You still won’t be giving up on your parent’s wisdom. If you have any trouble in school then they can help. You can concentrate on any areas that you are weak in. The best way to find these areas is with experience. Just to get into High School you will probably have to take a battery of tests to make sure you meet the minimum requirements. In the public school system the school will administer and PAY for those tests.
One of the biggest parts of being a teenager is growing away from your parents. It’s a natural and critical part of your evolution to become an adult. Once you are in High School you will have to be on your own more and more, and you will have to make more decisions. I know that you still love your parents and want to spend time with them, you still can. But, you will also want to get a way a little from them some, this will happen more and more as you get older. You need to turn into your own person and come out from your parents’ shadow; High School is a good place to do that.
Finally, your parents have been working hard for a long time to raise you they deserve a little break. They can still help you in High School, but now they have the freedom to do other things while you are in school. Soon you will be leaving the house for longer and longer period of times as you enter college and become an adult; use this period as a transition period so they get used to not seeing so much of you, before they lose you.
Going to High School will be the best thing for you right now, it will give you new experiences that you can’t get at home and it will open your frontiers. It will help prepare you for college and it will give your parents a break. This is a logical stage in your development and is really the next step that you need to take.
