The fight always was, is and will be happening. These mythical creations/characters are a part of our being just like hunger, anger, orgasms, ect. are a part of us. You can see hunger only if the person experiencing it is telling you or dives for that last doughnut, etc. Anger is sometimes very easy to see, but sometimes very difficult--taking a swing at someone or stabing someone in the back (figuratively). Orgasms? Watch a porno and you can see at least one of them is not faking it.
As for Jesus and the Devil: Well, I would say that ultimate good and ultimate evil fight in a person's head and heart every time said person has to make an ethical decision. So there.
Of course Jesus never left the 70's. He would look like a BeeGee in a white suit, gold chains, powdered nose, and walking with a gas can because he ran out (of gas) because of Jimmy Carter. That is one president that will NOT be sitting at the right hand of God "when the sh1thouse goes up in flames".

What you need to remember, is that we are finite and God is infinite. Our minds cannot comprehend how God made the world and man, but He did.
Now to answer the original question
Though the Bible doesn't offer us a detailed description of the rapture, it does provide some tanalizing 'snapshots'. According to 1 Corinthians 15 v 52, the Lord's return will be announced by a loud trumpet blast, after which the dead (who are saved), will be raised., followed by believers who are still alive (1 Thessalonians 4 v 17 indicates that Jesus won't return all the way to the earth during the rapture. Instead believers will be raised to the sky to meet Him there.

Let's see:
1) No, I don't think so.
2) No.
3) He wouldn't need it even if that were true.
4) No.
5) Probably. The Bible says everyone will know Him when they see Him.
6) No. And the "devil" is not invisible. Where do you think murder, rape, and bigotry come from?
7) They CAN be seen, and they WILL be seen.
8) In the hopes that he'll win. He probably thinks he's winning anyway. Look at all the problems in the world.
9) Yes, just as he knew it in the beginning, when he rebelled against God in the first place.

gino_ggg,
He will be coming in the clouds to perform the Day of Vengeance. Ten thousands of His saints will accompany Him. I will be on His side.
As He was Resurrected from a sealed tomb and came out of it, molecular displacement meaning nothing, He will have supernatural ability, gravity meaning nothing. The forst thing to swallow is the Resurrection, for if that is false, then all my faith is in vain. I believed a lie and nothing I am saying to you makes any sense or has any validity. But if the Resuurrection is true, then Jesus is the only way to the eternal life that men were supposed to have, as Adam had before the fall into sin.
The devil is stupid in a way. He is forever attempting to make a liar out of God. He will do what the Bible says he will do because the devil actually thinks that he can pull it off. And he will drag every one of the men he can with him. He is a sick, sick, fallen angel.

Well God is a creator so I would imagine He will be coming in a humble way.He is not a show off as you probably know, and they are merely in the spirit form a form highly superior to our earthly vessels. That someday we will be rid of,kinda like butterflies if you will.See He doesn't want to lose any of us so He is tolerating the world right now,But God has a limit as the earth has seen with the flood and then enough is enough. And it will be to late to sober up.The Kingdom of God is at hand which means don't put it off cause you can never tell when your plane will hit a building or even a heart attack at night. And that last battle won't be a difficult one for God, as all the power worthless scum sucking satan has is the little bit he obtains from individuals and at the end the dumb scab won't even have that. But he is to full of rage to try to use his rotted brain to figure out anything but to sucker us like Eve in the garden to hand over our little bit of power to him.Take Care and May God Bless You.

Let me cut to the quick. If you would embrace history we can easily validate two Apostles I.E. John, Peter (Play my silly game for a sec) These people are just as real as Jesus. John was boiled in oil. Peter asked to be crucified upside down. Both because they said that Jesus rose from the dead and would return. Now all they had to do was to say "Yeah we made it up. It never happened" and they would of gone on their merry way and the Jesus myth would of faded away. Why did a Pharisee (Saul/Paul) go from murdering Christians because he thought he was doing GOD a service to writing more then 80% of the new testament while suffering endless torture, floggings, and stonings? They all had something in common. They all saw something real enough to suffer for. They all saw the risen Lord Jesus. There is many more people who have had encounters with Jesus after he was risen. I am one and there are countless others. I was a black belt FSM Atheist and (anything not GOD) person for 30 years. I asked a question. Jesus responded. You got five minutes to spare? Ask Jesus to reveal himself to you. Think you can handle it? You may have to give up this life you cling to so strongly.
May GOD richly bless you.

First of all, Jesus isn't dead, he is alive and sitting on the right hand of God's throne. He ascended to heaven on a cloud in human form, He said He would come back that way. Jesus appeared to His disciples ( after He was ressurected) in flesh form, He even encouraged the disciples that didn't believe it was Him to touch Him...His likeness changed when the people He was walking with didn't recognize Him... that's something unexplainable... supernatural I'd say.
it is said that we see though a glass darkly. Our spiritual eyes are closed to the spiritual realm known as demons and spirits.
If we could we would see spiritual battles for our souls taking place in front of us. Angles and demons are constantly battling and in Revelation there will be demons unleashed on earth that will torment people, I suspect at such time If people could and can see them, it will be to prove that God exists, and His word is true, but even then people will condemn God not realizing that thier own hearts and mouths have caused thier demise.
Satan knows he is doomed, but that doesn't stop him, because God is his enemy and what do you want to do to your enemy if he can't be stopped? Take down as many people that your enemy loves as possible. We are the achiles heal... so Satan thinks... we are just pawns in satan's playground and the mind of satan is to hit God exactly where it hurts... His own creation... man.

Gino,
I understand your confusion. You're not alone in grappling with these kind of difficult questions. He is not in space, though, when you look up at the stars and heavens and see God's wonders, this can be a natural assumption. The Scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ is in Heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father. He has been there, going about His Father's business, since His ascension.
While I don't know if he will return in human form, we know that when he rose the first time, witnesses saw him in human form and testified to his appearance.
On his return, he will bind Satan in prison. But until then, Satan will test us and while Satan knows he cannot defeat God, he can tempt us from the path of righteousness.
Please know that I willl pray for you. And know that you are not alone in your confusion. God's love is with you even though you might not be able to place your trust in him yet.
And Gino,
Bless you, because even though you might not yet be able to place your faith in God's knowing hands, you are helping spread his word just by asking these questions so that you and others might learn.
Peace be upon you,
Laura
