It really bothers me that people think all or most religious people do not know that the merchant run government is making very unchristian like decisions. Many of us in fact most I think, are very disheartened. That a large number of christians assisted in getting elected this governing body that are making terribly foolish decisions that are for the most part not inspired by the written work that their religion teachs is truly a difficult thing to explain without stating flat out that there is a severe lack of intelligence within this group. They are at this time the more vocal bunch and are unfortunately motivated by a leadership who is pretty much so irresposible that they can not admit their blunder.
I do think I understand why the blunder was made. The abortion issue was such a burden that it outweighed all other concerns, and now the medlers want to make a similar issue out of gay marriage. The merchant run party wants despirately to keep this part of their base that they have made sure there is a money incentive by supporting christian charity type organizations.
In this coming election we will see for sure just how gullible the people in these religions are. I can only hope that they understand that these lesser issues they want supported are not as important as the damage being done all over the planet. Will they be so off base as to believe this gay marriage issue actually has merit?? I hope not.
when communicating with them I offer this suggestion and that is that they be asked if they think gossips should be stopped from being able to marry, or perhaps they shoud be forced to be divorced. Being a gossip stands on equal ground in,, scripture described sin,, as same sex relations
I am a person who believes scripture to be inspired and extremely good advice and clear direction, and I was not fooled for a second by any of these merchant bought and paid for officialsBS and tried my best to point out that people were being fooled by them, so not all of us fall into the category you mention.

What religion are you reffering to as blind and unable to see the problems of the world? How can a problem see themselves?
But if you are referring to religious people who keep on praying for peace how can you say that they do not see? Where was that prayer intended for if they say it is for peace in the world?
Maybe your question should be how can religious people support their prayers with action to really make it work.? And don't question religious people on the problems of the world. Everyone has a hand on the problem... religious and non-religious.

a) religious people are not blind.
b) there is a possibility that a few of the religious people are "physically" blind -- can not see.
c) we all see the problems of the world --in fact you are right -- they are too many.
Now, let me guess the question--if I may. You intend to say or imply that religious people should see all the problems -- and may be solve them or at least have a solution for them. The answer is NO. We have politicians, rulers, administrators to see or oversee that problems are resolved. Furthermore, I personally can not solve any of those problems --including your --lengthy question or statement. I rest my case. I am tired of writing. Rest in peace, don't worry too much and have a good nights' sleep -- and let the religious people believe in what they want to believe. Case closed for me --hope for you too.

I am a Atheist. I don't think it is that they are "blind". I think they see the problems in the world they just believe that god haves a reason for allowing those problems to happen. They tend to think its all part of god plan and most do not question it.
I personally don't believe there is a god so I don't agree with them on that. However they can believe what ever they want to.
It would all depend on what you consider to be "blind".

To tell you the truth, being religious has opened my eyes even more to the world's problem. Christ's love has taught me to put others before myself and help the poor, feed the hungry, etc. I recently joined a Charity CLub at my school. I can't wait to get involved!!! I set up a fund for the Pakistan earthquake at my school last year, but it yeilded close to nothing. I even overheard some people saying they didn't want to help Muslims in Pakistan. In my opinion, that is just BS. Who cares who is Muslim or Jewish or Hindu. Help them! And if they can't see Christ's love through you, still help them! That's what I would do.

Sara,
Oh, you mean people like Mother Theresa? That little lady did more for the problems in the world than you or I. I think you should reconsider the wording on this question or re-evaluate your perspective. It's ok, many people do including me.

a surgeon who is a member of my church along with his wife and 2 small children went to Gabon for 2 years so that he could teach surgery to doctors over there. he is not getting paid for this. all he gets is housing. a group of us went over to an elderly woman's house every night for over a week. (after working our regular jobs) and painted her house. we see problems and we realize we cant solve all the worlds problems. we can just love people and show our love as best we can.

What would I have to worry about?God takes care of me very well , and He will surely let someone like you take care of anything anything He can't handle. Why just look how all you non-believers rushed in to help the victims of Katina while all those Christian people just sit and watched. You have to be the epitome of ignorant.

You have no idea what the religious people see. Until you become religious, you will never know.
