My mom swears by castrol oil (the kind bought in the pharmacy - not motor oil). She rubs it on her sore joints and says it relieves pain.

Hi Kae, your symptoms sound similar to what I experienced before I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple of years ago. I take 800 mg. of Aleve and a 1000-mg. flaxseed oil capsule every night at bedtime for pain management, and I take tablets of a homeopathic herb called Arnica whenever I have flareups. Check out the links below for more information. I hope you are able to find relief. Take care.

a 16 y/o can have any of these symptoms mentioned here. obviously something is wrong, could just be a strained tendon if you lift alot of heavy weight often. any anti inflammatory will help but a visit to a physician and a referral to an orthopedist will answer your questions.

Sounds like you might have Arthritis.

Joint swelling
Stiffness, in the morning

Take some Ibuprofen. It is an inflammatory. Take hot soaks in the bath and prop your arm on a soft pillow when you can and when you go to bed. This is what I do. I have a problem with my left elbow and shoulder from time to time. Hope this helps.

First things first - go to your doctor! Please don't be like a coworker of mine who calls herself "Dr. Diane" and misdiagnoses herself all the time because she just doesn't want to go to the doctor.
Personally, it sounds like arthritis, fibromyalgia, or another autoimmune disease. My mother has similar symptoms with Sjogren's syndrome, also characterized by lack of tears and saliva. Nine out of ten sjogren's patients are women, and the disease sets on in the late forties.
But really, go see a rheumatologist.
