Haha. I'm sorry, but I must piece my two cents in. I am a christian. I have been one for near three years after going through college partying and...doing my thing. Here are my reasons for being christian (and btw, I will leave out the more "religious" reasons and give you real world reasons first.)
1. I don't have to fear getting an STD anymore (I am abstinant), since using a condom with extra spermicides and pulling out still leaves you with about a 7-8% chance of contamination.
2. I make people happy. Whether it be in work, in the store, at home. I act as Jesus taught. (this does not mean, however, that I don't make mistakes. Of course I still do!)
3. The Christian friends I have would do anything for me. I don't just mean my immediate friends. Imagine having 120 best friends that would do anything for you (this includes the adults). That is what Church is.
4. I have seen teens that come from abuse (like me) visit my church, and suddenly having 5 caring parents ready to take care of them. It doesn't matter if they are Christian or not, people that need love will get it.
5. I don't have to fear the world. Contrary to popular opinion, religion is not a way to rid oneself of fear of death. I still do fear death, but I know that God is in control. I could lose my job tommorrow (it's a pretty sweet job, I work on rotorcraft) but I would walk home and know that I would find another one soon enough.
6. No matter what you say, the miracles. Miracles do happen. And I don't mean just the "small stuff". I have seen things that you would believe a lie (which is why I won't bother mentioning them now). I have also felt things that can only be described as Love times 100.
7. I have learned to love my father, and all others who have wronged me.
These are just a few.
Let me ask you this. I can understand why some people would think Christianity is stupid or worthless, but atleast look at it from a different perspective. Can YOU give ME a reason to not be a Christian? If I ever met you, I would be your friend immediately. I would help you if you needed it (as long as it didn't break my morals). I would laugh with you. And if you needed it, I would care for you. And if you never became a Christian before I left your life, I would still love you as a friend just as much. When a Christian hurts you in some way, don't assume we are all like that. It's unfortunate, but we are not perfect just because we are Christians. On behalf of all others, I apologize. Hope you atleast get some entertainment out of this :) God Bless.

bertrand russell is a well known scientist who wrote this particular book many years ago, before the big controversy about the Big Bang and the many physical constants of space began.
TodAY IT IS PRETTY WIDELY ACCEPTED FACT, THAT ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A BIG BANG, SOMEBODY OR SOMETHING MUST HAVE CREATED IT, AND MORESO ALL THE CONDITIONS IN THE UNIVERSE SO THAT OUR LIFE COULD BEGIN
GOD IS A MATTER OF FAITH AND BELIVE, NOT ARGUMENTS AND RATIONALE.
iF YOU WANT TO BELIVE, DO IT,
IF YOU WANT TO FIND EXCUSES NOT TO,
(OOPS sorry for the caps lock)
belive, go right ahead
I do belive and so do billions of fellow christians, and you know what ?
They draw happiness and satisfaction from that, God is their light and their saviour,
so you start thinking about it if billions of people can be wrong.
read another good book by Ted Strobel, the Case for Faith, and may be you look at certain things differently
God Bless you

In my experiences well I was raised southern baptist but I have been to many different churches through out my life. Yet I have only met 2 people with the right mind and lifestyle to call themselves such. I have never been more disappointed in more people of one religion... Sorry to say but I think I would almost rather attend a muslim temple. I dont know if I could understand what they were saying but surely I would like the people more.

I can tell you why one should be a christian.Have you ever seen a cross? You know you can touch it, feel it and smell it.Now consider this ;suppose a tennant and his landlord went to court over a dispute. What woud the magistrate ask to see?The agreement !The Cross is the agreement;it is physical proof ,Which other religion offers it? So if there were no Cross there would be no proof of God's love.

My only answer would be don't let others do your thinking for you because the stakes are too high. Explore your options and realise that your eternal destiny is the most valuable thing you can consider.
I am yet to find anything positive about atheism.

If you are only able to accept the reality of the world through your physical senses... if you are pragmatic, practical, rational, independent, and especially if you have suffered at the hands of Christians. Or maybe you simply follow a different faith.

Being a christian is not up to reading an article, it is being able to know that their is a God and he is to be praised.

It is a personal choice....being influenced by another religion is a hazard if it is wrong. Yes, atheism is a religion......another 'ism'

All religion is false because there are no such things as gods. That does it for me.
