Slow down... get all the nations involved before we stick our necks out for the rest of them again. We're already stuck holding the check in Iraq. Make them get off their lazy butts and do something.

The nature of the explosive has yet to be determined. While the U.N. tends to sit on their thumbs and pontificate - they are all we have as a non-unilateral mechanism to punish north Korea. These guys have lost over 100,000 people to starvaton so are unlikely to bow to economic sanctions.
What can we do?
Involve China. Problem solved.

take a small nuke and centre it over the N. Korean region producing enriched plutonium and let the bastards know what is possible. If that does not give them a hint launch another with more kick to it.

We can wait and see what the UN can do, and then the 6 party talks. But I think Russia and China are going to shut him down. Wars are expensive. Neither can afford one right now. Russia has it's own problems to deal with.
