why do people insist that love is real? it's a combination of physical attraction, pairbonding, and codependency--unless of course you're referring to the love a parent has for a child which is a survival instinct

Isn't It a wonderment how god is loves. Yet for the only truly innocent people in this world, the children he just sits back and watches. He watched as they were marched into the gas-chambers of the third Rich. He watched as the Japanese tortured and raped and killed millions of children during the second world war.
He sits back today as countless children are raped, tortured and killed, every day in every country. Millions starve to death every day without divine intervention.

I don't know of any such belief...
however, if you mean that people [believers] are emotional when they refer to god...then, OK...
Whatever the idea of god is to the individual, it is beyond human understanding, knowledge, comprehension....
human reasoning, sensory impressions, science...."facts" do NO good ....so the only means by which people can claim to feel the presence of god, explain their "soul" or spiritual aspects is by some emotional comparison....
but god -him/her/itself - is an emotion....no

Because they're in denial. They know that they can't prove that he/she/it exists, so they say it's a spirit and hope nobody will question them.
