I use a countertop grill or large skillet to grill my sandwiches. I coat the grill with butter or margarine and allow it to get hot. I place the bread slices on the grill and toast the first side lightly (to heat them up). Having the cheese ready, I immediately place the cheese between the toasted bread. I apply another coating of butter, and toast the outside of the sandwich (both sides). Leave on the grill as long as you can to melt the cheese. Place on a plate, cut into wedges, and serve with a crisp pickle. This makes a good late night snack that all goes to the bottom line.

Place the cheese in the middle of the two slices of bread and place on a skillet with some butter in it. Flip the sandwich over a few times, to make it really crispy, take the sandwich out of the skillet and then butter it and place it back on higher heat. This is how the cooks in diners make their grilled cheese sandwiches so great and crispy!!!

Put the cheese in the middle of the two bread slices and spread butter on both sides. Turn pan on low heat setting. Put assembled sandwich on pan and wait for about a minute then flip. Do this until bread is brown not black. Put onto a plate and VOILA! you got yourself a grilled cheese sandwich.

The best grilled cheese sandwiches use your favorite type of bread, butter both sides, on the inside of each slice of bread put a thin layer of brown sugar, in the middle put a slice of velveeta cheese. Then fry in a pan. YUMMY!

Heat a skillet to medium heat. Put some butter on each slice of bread. Place one slice of bread, butter side down into skillet. Place slice of cheese on the bread and top with second slice of bread, butter side up. Turn over after cooking for about two minutes, check so you don't over cook. Cook on other side same amount of time.

I agree with all here... about the butter and the bread. BUT I use 2 or 3 different cheeses. and cook them low until all is melted gooey and bread is golden brown.

Colby Jack cheese as one of the cheeses is my favorite.

I always just put lots and lots of butter in the pan, and throw down a slice of bread, then put the cheese on it, and then another piece of bread. Once it is golden on the bottom, I flip it, making sure there is plenty of butter in the pan to cook it on.

Put the cheese between the bread and you can make it in a toaster oven....but they're much better if you cook it on a non-stick skillet since you don't have butter. Make sure you squish the sandwich while cooking with the spatula until the bread is golden brown...yummy to my tummy!
