Yes you are responsible because you are MARRIED. My hubby made a lot of credit card debt went to finance the payment found out i was responsible even though i didnot make them Crazy i no but i as in formed even though he made it i will be held responsible for payment also. Well the IRS have a program called the Innoice Spousal Releif program helps at income tax time so you will not be held responsible for there debt at the end of year.

in the same way that everything obtained within the marriage belongs to both people the debt is also shared if he dies banks can transfer the accounts to you, if you get divorced and he claims that the cards where use to buy stuff for you both then you may end up being responsible for part of the debt

confident, they are costs incurred in the process the marriage and the courts have ruled that this is theory that the two events have benifitted from using the enjoying cards. it would be diverse if the enjoying cards have been issued on your husband as a business enterprise card, except you have been additionally listed as a co-proprietor of the business enterprise.

cant BELIEVE these answers... my comment is this: IN most states, ONLY if YOU are onthe card, or a co-borrower, as in co-signer,can you be legally...as in LEGALLY responsible for anyones debt including a spouse. However they may try to tell you otherwise, and scare you....and many will pay when infact they didnt have to...

unfortunately, yes. I have spent alot of time working with situations like yours, and once you marry someone, you also marry their family, their bad habits, and their debt. Your best bet is to help him pay it off, or it may eventually hurt your credit
