Ok, I go to a small highschool, so everyone knows everyone, and I just cant talk to girls. As in (noone in particular) but we are in a group project I cant start a conversasion. As I just feel that anything I say will sound so out of place for me. (It has an element of truth) as I am known for being dead serious. And anything I say will just not go over as I want it to.
When we are in a group conversation I just dont have anything to say. If i say something it never goes over well, I am not joking.
I just dont know where to begin. I know alot will say just go up and say Hi but I am not their yet. I just want to be able to talk in normal situations.
help me.

The other thing is their is like this one kid in our class who is an absolute loser and he talks to everyone, and it is really annoying, and I dont want to turn out like him.

Oh, honey, just ask questions.
Focus more on getting others to talk, than on what you will say yourself, and you will soon be considered the most brilliant conversationalist at your school (and everywhere else!).
"Mmm, I dunno, what do YOU think?" or "Really? Why do you think so?" work every time! :-))
Girls like to talk about their friends, and their families, and stuff that makes them mad. And music, and their pets.
Say "Hey, how's it going?" :-)) Follow this up with, "No, really, how ARE you?" Sometimes you might not have to say much more than that! All you'll have to do is listen!
LOOK at their faces. Do they look tired? Stressed? Happy? Bored?
Say "Wow, you look bored! (or happy, tired, etc). What's up?"
If she's going to talk to you at all, she'll tell you! Ask more questions. "Why do you think so?" "What??" "How can that be possible??"
Just get them to yak, and seem interested in what they say.
Listening at all will make you seem DEEP and SENSITIVE. :-))

Well first of all you don't have to be so shy in front of girls, I mean we like when guys come up and talk to us but if they don't talk to us we think they don't like us so you know just try to talk to a girl in a general conversation!Maybe try giving a girl a compliment we really like it when guys do that! wow. that's tough. but the thing is don't THINK. you just do. just take whatever's thrown at you and then you reply. Hi is a good start, but then if you're not there, then eye contact is a good start. i think the reason why you think you can't is because you feel nervous, so just relax and breathe. hope that works.

well i suggest you should start talking to one or to as friends and then see if u like them or if they like you if you see that they have an interest in you them u go a head and ask them out you have nothing to lose go for it

just be yourself. people should like you for who you are. you should try to talk even if its hard. you might mess up at first but most people are forgiving and you'll get better at it.
