Isn't the Koran enough evidence that Islam is right, then? Or the Book of Mormon enough proof for Mormonism?

Stronzo, there are many other gospels that were left out of the Bible because they did contradict. The Bible that we have today also contradicts itself. Here's a list of a few:

No one can tell you what is right or wrong....they can only express what they believe, no one can make you believe anything you don't want to.

I believe very strongly in the Book of Mormon, Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, the Ensign, anything that is spiritually uplifiting. I do not believe just holding one of those books or it being written is just proof. What is "proof" for me - my testimony, the witness of the Holy Ghost testifying to me what I believe is true and what I am doing is right.

You raise a good point though...as far as one of them has to be right. I believe most Chrisitan religions have parts of the true gospel but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and full gospel on the earth. It is the Lords church, He loves us, we are Heavenly Fathers children. They both want what is best for us and to return to live with Them someday.

the book of Mormon is not proof of Mormonism. There are so many errors and changes in it that it has discredited itself!

The other question is that the Bible IS the proof that Christianity is right. There are external evidences that corroborate what the Bible says as being true.

The Bible is a compilation of 66 books, and as such, internal criticism should tear it apart (or, it should tear itself apart)...it doesn't.

The Book of Mormon teaches biblical Christianity, so it can't really testify to Mormonism. The rest of the standard works (Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price) plus all of the collected prophetic writings of the General Authorities pretty much give us a confused picture of who God is...

The Koran needs to be read with a biography of Mohmammed by your side, to catch any real continuity throughout.

Actually, the Bible has little to do with my beliefs, the Bible is only a guide written by common men. And it has been revised, translated, re-written, and interpreted to give many meanings to different passages. But still even a non-believer must admit that overall the Bible teaches us to be good, honorable, faithful, and righteous. Islam may be right, and if they are, that is close enough for me. And if Mormons are right, that is good enough for me, too. So what's your point?

The Bible is more than just a claim to be the word of God. The archaeological, historical and scientific evidence backs up the other claims of the Bible. This evidence is proof of authenticity that the Qur'an and the Book of Mormon do not have!

well first, the bible has been around a whole lot longer, and there are no holes in it like the other books. Jesus fulfilled 300 prophecis in the Bible, and the probability of that happening is so minute. now, imagine how small an electron is. now take a big ball with the diameter that is the distance from here to the sun and fill it with electrons. one in that number is the probability that one man can fulfill 300 prophecies, and Jesus did that. There is no other option. I recomend the book by Lee Strobel called "The Case For Christ." its really interesting and it proves the bible is correct. hope you find this useful.

saxquiz,
I wouldn't be so frivolous with my description of any of those books. Rather, take each on their own merits and claims. Isn't that the logical approach? Why combine them all as favorable or disfavorable except to be lazy intellectually. Also, I would tell you that most books that are said to be 'scripture' tend to deny the validity of the others. I think that you would know that, wouldn't you?

When you are ready, since you are so interested, go ahead and ask an intelligent question.

Excellent question. Too bad none of them are enough proof,in themselves, to be right.
How can you use the words of a book to prove that same book true, when all you have is the words of that book as proof?
Faith is the answer you will get from most religious people. But then you have to ask, Is a persons faith enough proof that ANY religion is right?
