"Golfcarme..." above is correct. Contrary to what you're told, acid is not the cause of acid reflux, it is the solution. If you're having heartburn, you need more acid in your system. Drink a tablespoon of vinegar (white, red wine vinegar, whatever kind) when you are suffering. It isn't pleasant going down. Chase it with water after about 20 seconds if you must.
