Americans like to call us North Americans but we are not at least in my view I definitely am not! I have nothing against them either I speak the Queen's English as any Briton does and have a fondness for Brits because I have lived there. I know some very kind NewYorkers but don't see why it would make a difference but in any case I can attest that Canadians are very good people who are very caring despite our abundance of American presence in Canada. We are a quiet and respectable proud people and do our best to respect others no matter where they come from I can't speak for my government or for past stupidity of some of my government but I agree that Americans are overtly proud of something they shouldn't be and despite all appearances I think some of the American public will agree.
As for banning that's a bit extreme I think if you participate in Yahoo Answers it shouldn't matter just pick the answer you like regardless of the respondents country it's the appropriate answer that counts.

The 'just ask in your question' answer might be the right one -- even though it's not likely to work all that well, it's still calm, polite, to the point, and the only thing that can be done.

As ridiculous, and probably deliberately provocative as it this question is, I have to admit some of the replies gave a bit of a reason for why somebody might want such an admittedly stupid thing.

Your on an American website, so what do you mean ??? Kind of doing and then telling us not to . Why don't you just go to Canada and then your problem will be solved. If you don't like America and if your here, then get the Hell out of here.
The Canadians are wonderful people, so don't go and back scratch them. Your a excellent example of not know which side your bread is buttered on.

What've you got against Americans? We're a country full of millions and millions of people. Do you honestly think that not one of those people have anything useful to say? If so, why post here?? Part of the greatness of this site is its amazing diversity of people. Really, if you can't deal with that, you should find another site and not insult a whole country.

Hey mate...
By looking at your previous questions it does seem as if you have a thing or two against Americans. But don't you think it's rather hypocritical of yourself to be ranting on against Americans, on an American made website? You see, blokes such as yourself do bother me.
If you have a thing against Americans, you are more than free to feel that way. However I bet you like their products, you watch their movies, listen to their music, and wear their clothing. So what does that make you.... A BL0ODY HYPOCRITE!!!!

Cheers mate!!!

the in hardship-free words aspect that annoys me about people from different international places posting on the united kingdom & eire website, is even as they offer out fake recommendations. lots of the time those solutions are from people from the U. S., and they don't look to do not forget that there is an entire international accessible and that their regulations do not word international huge. that's uncomplicated sufficient to view questions out of your man or woman united states of america, yet I extremely have considered fairly a number of them declaring that there is not any way for them to modify it to u . s . in hardship-free words, that's a number of crap, as you could. apart from that, I extremely do not have any situation the position absolutely everyone is from.

I was going to say I thought this question was nastily discriminatory but when I read the answers and saw how many americans had answered it I was gobsmacked. Perhaps this habit of pushing in where they are clearly not welcome is one of the reasons the asker wants to exclude them.

No all people who has a computer an Internet connection and yahoo can answer your questions. The same goes for people who ask questions. Intelligence is optional.
